Buon Don District Veterans Association supports more than 1,600 members to borrow capital

Implementing poverty reduction work for members and participating in the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, in recent times, the District Veterans Association has promoted the tradition of solidarity, mobilized the construction of the Comradeship Fund, donated 30 breeding cows, helping poor members have conditions to develop livestock; supported the construction of 10 Comradeship houses for members in difficult circumstances.

In addition, the District Veterans Association has done a good job of entrusting loans from the District Social Policy Bank, creating conditions for members to access preferential loans to develop the economy , improve their lives, strive to become rich legitimately, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

In 5 years, the District Veterans Association has supported more than 1,600 members to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding debt of nearly 94 billion VND. As a result, if in 2021 the total number of poor members was 354 households, near-poor households was 412 households, then after 5 years the number of poor households decreased by 100 households and near-poor households decreased by 228 households. Currently, the poverty rate is 14%.

The District Veterans Association strives to annually contribute 100,000 VND or more to build the Comradeship Fund; contribute 25,000 VND/member/year to implement the temporary housing elimination program for members; strives to reduce the poverty rate to 6% by 2030.
