On the morning of October 11, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, the People's Committees of the provinces of Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai and Ho Chi Minh City jointly organized a conference to review 1 year of implementing the socio -economic development cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Coast and deploy the Implementation Plan for the period 2024 - 2025. Attending the conference were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Khanh Hoa Province Nguyen Khac Toan; Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Duong Ngoc Hai; Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province Pham Anh Tuan; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province Tran Hoa Nam; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen Province Dao My; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province Tran Phuoc Hien; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan Province Trinh Minh Hoang. According to the preliminary report, in 2023, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, Ho Chi Minh City signed a cooperation agreement on socio-economic development between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Coast Region for the period of 2023 - 2025 with 2 main parts: general cooperation and cooperation between each province. Of which, general cooperation is in 5 areas, including: Tourism development; connecting supply - demand, investment - trade promotion; science and technology development, digital transformation, human resource training; agricultural development; cooperation in adapting to climate change. Regarding bilateral cooperation, Ho Chi Minh City signed each area of strength according to the characteristics of each locality.
For Khanh Hoa, the two localities signed a cooperation agreement to review and update the list of projects calling for investment in the period of 2023 - 2025, integrating it into events to inform and support connecting businesses with the government. In the field of trade promotion, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa coordinate to organize large-scale trade promotion events and activities every 2 years. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will have cooperation between major hospitals and the Khanh Hoa health sector to support treatment, technology transfer and training of medical staff for the province.

After 1 year of signing, Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces have implemented 10/10 regional cooperation contents and 10/11 bilateral cooperation contents; in October 2024, they will continue to implement 1 more bilateral cooperation content. Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City have also implemented a number of outstanding activities in trade and investment promotion. Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a document implementing a socio-economic development cooperation plan with Ho Chi Minh City. At the Supply-Demand Connection Conference between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in 2023, Khanh Hoa participated with 9 booths. Khanh Hoa also participated in the Exhibition of aquaculture, agricultural, forestry and fishery processing technology, VietGAP and OCOP products; and the Fair of typical Vietnamese export goods in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, cooperation in the health sector between the two localities has also been actively implemented and achieved many results in professional support activities, technology transfer from hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City (Tu Du Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology...) to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital; other professional support activities according to the Telemedicine Project and emergency cases. In addition, the province has also cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics to develop the Project to establish a National Research Center on Ocean Technology; signed a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Law to advise on legal policies, train and foster human resources in the legal field...

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam said that the above-mentioned cooperation enhancement has brought many positive contributions, creating an important driving force to promote socio-economic development for Khanh Hoa in particular. The results of the cooperation have contributed to the recent economic growth of Khanh Hoa province achieving impressive results with GRDP in 2023 increasing by 10.24% (ranking 4th in the country and leading the North Central and Central Coast regions); in the first 9 months of 2024, it increased by 10.45%, ranking 6th in the country and ranking 2nd in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Concluding the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai said that in order to continue to effectively implement the cooperation agreement, Ho Chi Minh City requested local leaders to continue to pay attention and unanimously direct local agencies and units to strengthen coordination with departments, branches and units of Ho Chi Minh City to focus on implementing the Cooperation Program for the period 2024 - 2025. With 11 regional events and 11 bilateral cooperation contents, the coming time will focus on key areas such as: Promoting investment, trade and tourism promotion activities; supporting the connection of supply and demand for goods consumption between localities, boosting exports; linking tourism development; supporting the development of the health sector; developing the education and training sector. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City will focus on: Ho Chi Minh City requested local leaders to pay attention to creating conditions and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses in the city and provinces in the region. “We hope that the business community of the localities will strengthen trade connections, promote investment, and consume products; support each other in terms of experience and technology in management and production for mutual development.
