
Attending the conference were representatives of Lao Cai City Party Committee, Provincial Association of the Elderly, representatives of a number of agencies and units in the area; cadres, members, and representatives of the Association of the Elderly in communes and wards in the city. This is an opportunity for delegates to look back on the past, exchange experiences, and unify their will and readiness when decentralizing according to the new government model from July 1.



According to the summary report on 24 years of formation and development, Lao Cai City Elderly Association has built a strong association organization, receiving attention from all levels of the association. Membership development work has achieved positive results: From 4,000 members/7,000 elderly people, with more than 100 branches when it was first established, to date, there have been 12,333 members/17,163 elderly people, with 236 branches. Every year, 30% of grassroots branches and Elderly Associations of communes and wards have excellently completed their tasks. Lao Cai City Elderly Association has excellently completed its tasks.





Over the past 24 years, with the spirit of being a shining example for the elderly, the leaders of the Lao Cai City Elderly Association have carried out the contents stated in Resolution XIII of the Party: "Promoting the intelligence, life experience, work and study of the elderly in society, community and family; effectively implementing the model family of "Exemplary grandparents and parents, filial children and grandchildren, harmonious husband and wife, loving and united siblings"; sponsoring and helping the elderly who are in difficulty, lonely and have no place to rely on....


At the conference, delegates discussed and evaluated the results achieved by the organization, and at the same time, pointed out existing problems and limitations.

At the conference, Ms. Ha Thi Thiep, President of the Lao Cai Provincial Association of the Elderly, praised the achievements of the Lao Cai City Association of the Elderly, and emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of solidarity and enthusiasm for the work of the elderly. The President of the Provincial Association of the Elderly also encouraged the Lao Cai City Association of the Elderly to maintain activities to support the elderly, develop intergenerational self-help clubs and promote the patriotic emulation movement among the city's elderly members.





On this occasion, the Lao Cai City Elderly Association awarded 23 outstanding individuals and groups for their positive contributions to the work of the City Elderly Association; and awarded 5 intergenerational self-help clubs of the city that have operated effectively in the past time.
This is the last conference of the Lao Cai City Elderly Association, before ending its activities after 24 years on July 1. The conference is an important milestone in the development history of the Lao Cai City Elderly Association, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and determination in caring for the lives of the elderly and building a strong community.
