Yen Cuong Commune Farmers' Association currently has more than 1,000 members, operating in 11 branches. Clearly identifying the role of farmers in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, in recent times, the Commune Farmers' Association has developed a plan to build advanced, exemplary New Rural Development with specific implementation contents associated with the emulation movements of the Association; widely deployed, encouraging members and farmers to boldly innovate their thinking and working methods, apply scientific and technical advances to production and business, and effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the locality. Comrade Dinh Thi Thu, Chairwoman of Yen Cuong Commune Farmers' Association, said: “Through the meetings, the branches organize propaganda among members and farmers about the purpose, meaning, and what farmers need to do; the benefits and role of farmers in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction... To promote the movement of good farmers in production and business, every year, the Commune Farmers' Association proactively coordinates with functional agencies to open training courses to transfer scientific and technical advances to farmers; mobilize members to change the structure of crops and livestock, and make focused investments, suitable to the reality of the household. The Commune Farmers' Association also plays a good role as a bridge between the Social Policy Bank and its members, creating conditions for people to access investment loans for development, effectively expanding production and livestock models... In 2023, the Commune Farmers' Association stood up as a credit guarantee with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development for 530 member households to borrow capital with a surplus of VND 100 billion. debt of 144.2 billion VND; entrusted by the Social Policy Bank with a loan and savings group, creating conditions for 15 households to borrow with an outstanding debt of 590 million VND. Thanks to the loan capital, many members have organized effective production and livestock farming, gradually developing the family economy more and more sustainably, contributing to increasing the average income of the people, ensuring the income criteria of the commune to build an advanced and exemplary new rural area. To improve people's lives, the Commune Farmers' Association has encouraged and motivated members and farmers to enthusiastically compete in labor, production, be proactive and creative, and strive to get rich. Up to now, 423 households, accounting for 36.5% of rural households, have competed to register for the title of excellent production and business at all levels. In 2023, 100% of registered households will achieve the title of excellent production and business.
In addition, responding to the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the movement to build "Farmer families meeting cultural standards"; responding to the campaign for all people to join hands to build new rural areas..., the Executive Committee of the Commune Farmers' Association has assigned targets to the branches with specific tasks, such as organizing the construction of rural roads, intra-field roads... The Commune Farmers' Association and its branches are responsible for the self-managed road with a length of 1km; assigning members to regularly plant and care for trees, flower roads, trim neatly, and clean the roads to be bright and clean. Cadres and members of the Farmers' Association in the villages also actively participate with the people in building village roads, alleys, and lanes; periodically cleaning, installing night lighting systems to ensure security and order. The works and tasks of the cadres and farmer members not only meet the needs of the people but also create a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" rural environment. In addition, the Commune Farmers' Association also coordinates with the Women's Union and the Commune Youth Union to continue guiding villages to classify waste at source and classify organic waste right at home; up to now, the model of classifying waste at source has been expanded to 90% of households in the commune. Thanks to the effectiveness of this model, it has helped reduce 60-70% of the amount of general waste sent out of the centralized landfill area. Farmers take advantage of recycled waste, process organic waste into fertilizer for safe agricultural production; minimize the amount of waste released into the environment, and at the same time raise people's awareness of environmental protection.
Actively implementing the movement of farmers participating in preventing and combating crimes, social evils, maintaining security and order, the Commune Farmers' Association propagates and mobilizes cadres and members of the Farmers' Association not to participate in buying, selling, transporting and setting off firecrackers during the Lunar New Year; actively participates in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, contributing to building a solid people's security posture. In the work of "repaying gratitude", the Commune Farmers' Association has coordinated with mass organizations to visit and encourage families with preferential policies and families facing difficulties. Coordinates with departments, branches and mass organizations to encourage farmers' association members to well implement the grassroots democracy regulations, actively participate in agricultural production, and contribute tax funds to the collective and the State. Actively implement environmental sanitation work.
With each project and work of the Yen Cuong Commune Farmers' Association, the Association has actively contributed to implementing the criteria for building advanced and exemplary new rural areas, promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of the Association, contributing with the Party Committee, government and people of the commune to successfully build advanced and exemplary new rural areas in the locality.
