Attending the Congress, on the side of the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association, there were Architect Tran Ngoc Chinh, Chairman of the Association, former Deputy Minister of Construction ; Prof. Dr. Do Hau, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Association. On the local side, there were Dr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City; Dr. Architect Phung Phu Phong, Chairman of the Urban Planning and Development Association, Director of the Department of Construction, and leaders of the city's departments and branches.
In the summary report of the Association's activities, Vice President and General Secretary of the City Urban Planning and Development Association Nguyen Cuu Loan said that the Da Nang City Urban Planning and Development Association is a social-professional organization, gathering people working in planning, architecture, construction and urban development in Da Nang City, established under Decision No. 51/1999/QD-UB dated April 17, 1999 of the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee. Over the past 5 years, the Association has actively participated in giving opinions on many draft laws and decrees; appraising and giving opinions on planning projects, functional zoning plans, important projects and works of the city with many good results.
In the past time, the Association has effectively implemented Decision No. 27/2015/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on consulting, commenting, and social appraisal activities and always determined that this is the main and important task that the Association regularly organizes and implements. With a team of prestigious experts in the fields of planning, architecture, and construction, enthusiastic and dedicated, the opinions participating in commenting and contributing to draft laws, planning projects, zoning plans, works, and projects of the city; and discussions in seminars are highly appreciated by public opinion.
In particular, the Association has commented and appraised 16 projects and tasks of adjusting the 1/2000 scale zoning plan; the regulations on the management of Da Nang city's architecture and the list of valuable architectural works in the city; commented on the draft idea of the Socio -Economic Development Plan of Da Nang City to 2030 and vision to 2045; the Lien Chieu Port Planning Project and the route connecting the port to the Nam Hai Van bypass; commented on the Local Adjustment of the General Plan of Da Nang City to 2030, vision to 2045 (content of Lien Chieu seaport area and Lang Van project); commented on the Overall Project of the network of statues, monuments and murals of the city to 2025, vision to 2030; participated in commenting on the city's drainage treatment projects; commented on the draft Land Law (amended), the Law on Real Estate Business, etc.
In the past 5 years, the Association has organized many seminars and scientific workshops such as: "Da Nang - 20 years of urban planning and development"; "Orientation for planning and development of urban centers in Da Nang city"; "What solutions for smart traffic in Da Nang"; "20 years of the Da Nang Urban Planning and Development Association with the planning career in Da Nang"; "Discussing the urban lifestyle in Da Nang"...
In addition, the Association coordinated with the Da Nang City Construction Association to organize the workshop "Condotel, legal basis and practice". In addition, participating in the workshop "Building a comprehensive social housing policy in Vietnam for the period 2021-2030" organized by the Ministry of Construction, participating in workshops organized by the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City, departments, branches and sectors of Da Nang City.
Scientific research work is also of interest to the Association. During the last term, a research topic in the field of geodesy was implemented to serve the city-level planning work, which is "Solution to convert the existing planning map coordinate system to the VN2000 map system to serve the planning and management of urban development in Da Nang".
The Urban Development Planning Association of Da Nang City has coordinated with the Construction Association and the Architects Association of Da Nang to jointly establish the specialized magazine "Urban & Development" with the Vietnam Construction Association as the governing body and licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications to supplement and amend under the Construction People magazine, operating for over 20 years, the magazine has won the B Prize of the National Urban Planning Award.
The Association also mobilized members and businesses to join hands to support people facing difficulties due to Covid-19; organized football tournaments, golf tournaments... With positive contributions over the past 5 years, the Da Nang City Urban Planning and Development Association was awarded a certificate of merit and emulation flag by the Da Nang City People's Committee; and a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, and the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association...
Speaking at the congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the contributions of the Da Nang Urban Development Planning Association over the past 25 years to the urbanization and urban development planning of Da Nang City.
“In the process of city development, planning is the foundation for urban development orientation, an important driving force for socio-economic development. With the expansion of urban space, technical infrastructure and socio-economic infrastructure are invested in more synchronously and effectively, contributing to improving the quality of life of people, attracting many investment projects, developing science and technology, and innovation.
Therefore, Da Nang has a new, modern, youthful look for Da Nang city, worthy of its position as a major socio-economic center of the country" - Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasized.
At the preparatory session yesterday afternoon, the Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 5th term (2023-2028) consisting of 35 members. The new Executive Committee elected Master, Engineer Dinh The Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction as Chairman of the Urban Development Planning Association of Da Nang City.
On this occasion, the collective and individuals of the Urban Development Planning Association of Da Nang City were awarded the Emulation Flag, the Honor Cup "For the cause of Vietnam's urban development" and the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association; the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City awarded the Certificate of Merit to the Urban Development Planning Association of Da Nang City.
