Workshop connecting startup business models

This activity is part of the Project “Combating and preventing human trafficking and modern slavery - component: Enhancing skills and employment opportunities for groups of workers at high risk of being trafficked, especially young workers who want to migrate in the period 2023-2025”.

Within the framework of the project, IOM coordinated with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Health ) of the provinces and cities of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Hai Phong to jointly implement technical consulting activities for small and medium-sized business models.

The activity started in March 2023 and by December 2024, a total of 30 models in the provinces had received technical support to develop business models, create more jobs for local workers, and contribute to reducing the desire to migrate, especially illegal migration.

Technical support activities are carried out in the form of direct consultation for each model based on needs combined with specialized workshops. The activities have brought about remarkable results, such as: Significant increase in revenue compared to 2023 (average of about 16%), application of technology in operations, production, changing and expanding business models, recruiting more local workers, etc.

The workshop aims to summarize project activities, draw lessons on approaches in the provinces; discuss, propose approaches and support, help development models, create more jobs for workers, thereby developing the local economy , reducing the desire to migrate for work, especially illegal migration.

At the same time, share business opportunities and challenges for small, medium and micro business models, especially in the context of digital transformation/green transformation; enhance communication and connection between models and businesses, build cooperative relationships in business and promote potential sales markets...
