The workshop was chaired by the Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. The workshop is part of a series of events and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025).

The conference organizing committee received nearly 120 presentations from leaders, former leaders of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , central departments, ministries, and branches, scientists, and historical witnesses. The presentations were carefully and seriously prepared, closely following the conference's theme, contributing to clarifying documents and events with a scientific and convincing approach and solution.

The workshop will focus on affirming the correct and wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as the decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution; the will and determination of our people to liberate the South and unify the country; clarifying the historical context, international and domestic situations; the brave, resilient, resourceful and creative fighting spirit of the people and armed forces of the whole country, directly the army and people of the South. At the same time, it will deepen the unique military art in the resistance war against the US to save the country; the role of the great rear in the North and the great support of the international community for the Vietnamese people; the stature, historical significance, causes of victory and lessons learned in the resistance war against the US to save the country in general, and the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975 in particular. In particular, the workshop drew valuable lessons to continue to apply and promote effectiveness in the cause of national construction and defense, bringing the country into a new era of development...

Before the conference, the Organizing Committee carried out many activities, such as: Offering incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch and President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park (District 1); visiting and presenting gifts to typical policy families participating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign in Ho Chi Minh City.
