Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Head of Department 3 of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Phu Truong, Head of Department, Secretary of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association.
On the Ho Chi Minh City side, there were comrades: Nguyen Thanh Nghi, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and 444 outstanding young people following Uncle Ho's teachings nationwide for the 8th time in 2025.
Speaking at the commendation ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia commented that in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has focused on extensively implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style with many good models and effective methods. Thereby, contributing to making Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style deeply permeate and become a solid ideological and spiritual foundation in society; spreading good values, strongly inspiring the community.
According to him, our country is facing new opportunities and new challenges. The entire Party, people, army and the entire political system are showing the highest determination and greatest efforts to implement the historic decisions of the 11th Central Conference of the 13th tenure, creating the premise for the country to develop rapidly and sustainably, entering an era of national development towards prosperity, civilization and prosperity.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes that the youth and young people of the whole country will continue to discipline themselves, constantly cultivate, practice, and be pioneers in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style. This must be considered a voluntary, regular task, a personal need. Each young person, especially the Youth Union cadre, needs to truly be a shining example of morality, setting an example, being frugal, honest, impartial, and selfless. They must have a pure revolutionary ideal, a strong desire to contribute, a strong political will, and dare to fight against negative and wrongful manifestations.
Young people must set new goals for themselves, not be satisfied with what they have, must strive, be proactive, and be creative in studying, working, producing, mastering science and technology; promote the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, affirming Vietnam's position in the international arena.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union needs to continue to promote the study and follow of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to create a strong change in awareness and action among young people. Strongly innovate the content, methods and forms of studying and propagating Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style for the young generation, associated with building and implementing the national value system, cultural value system, family value system and Vietnamese human standards. Promote the discovery, training, commendation, propaganda, replication and dissemination of advanced examples and typical examples in studying and following Uncle Ho.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, ministries, branches, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations continue to pay more attention to youth work; create all favorable conditions for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to perform well its functions and tasks, truly be a companion and trusted friend of the youth, and a reliable reserve force of the Party.
“The Party, the State and the people always place great trust and expectations on the young generation. We believe that with enthusiasm, intelligence, ambition and aspiration to contribute, Vietnamese youth will continue to write the heroic history of the nation, contributing to making our country increasingly rich, prosperous, civilized, happy, and steadily moving towards socialism,” said comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia.
This Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings took place in Ho Chi Minh City in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
At the congress, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union honored 444 delegates of the 8th National Progressive Youth Congress following Uncle Ho's teachings.
