The two sides assessed the advantages, difficulties and results of searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao battlefield in recent years. At the same time, they exchanged views on economic , cultural, social, security and defense development; and agreed on a number of coordination contents in the coming time, especially the coordination work to maintain security on the border of the two countries in general and the two localities in particular.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai sincerely thanked the enthusiastic and effective support of the Salavan Provincial Special Working Group, Party committees, authorities at all levels and local people for their propaganda, information provision, participation in the search and help the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team 192, Hue City Military Command (CHQS) search, exhume and collect hundreds of martyrs' remains, many of which have names and hometowns. Notably, in the 2024 - 2025 dry season, 10 remains were exhumed and collected and prepared to be brought back to the country for burial.
In order to achieve good results in the search, excavation, and collection of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao battlefield in the dry season of 2025 - 2026 and the following years, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai hopes that in the coming time, the Salavan Provincial Special Working Group will direct the grassroots and mobilize people in remote and isolated areas to support the search, discovery, and verification of grave information; help with accommodation and guidance so that the 192nd Martyr Remain Collection Team can successfully complete its assigned tasks.
On this occasion, Hue City People's Committee presented meaningful gifts to the Salavan Provincial Special Working Group and supported the province with 30 million VND; Hue City Military Command presented Salavan Provincial Military Command with 2 sets of computers.
