Working Group No. 21 - Ho Chi Minh City ends the voyage to visit Truong Sa and DK1 Platform

On the afternoon of May 17, Working Group No. 21 of Ho Chi Minh City ended its working trip to visit and encourage officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 Platform in 2025. Welcoming the working group back to Ho Chi Minh City was comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Working Group No. 21 is headed by Rear Admiral Le Ba Quan, Commander of Region 2, Navy. The delegation of Ho Chi Minh City is headed by Comrade Pham Thanh Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. Deputy Heads of the working group include: Major General Tran Van Trai, Deputy Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Secretary of the District 3 Party Committee; Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Joining the delegation were comrade Dang Ngoc Tung, former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Club "For Beloved Hoang Sa, Truong Sa"; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, former Political Commissar of the Navy, former Political Commissar of Military Region 7; and 231 delegates representing the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; socio-political organizations; leaders of districts, Thu Duc City; organizations, businesses, and typical individuals of the city.

During the voyage from May 11 to 17, the delegation visited the islands of Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Len Dao, Da Tay A, Truong Sa and DK1/12 platform.

At each destination, Rear Admiral Le Ba Quan and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Pham Thanh Kien and delegates kindly visited and encouraged officers and soldiers to overcome all difficulties to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and to be a support for fishermen to go offshore.

In addition, the delegation presented gifts of necessities and essential living items as a sentiment from the Party Committee, government, people of Ho Chi Minh City and people from the mainland to the officers and soldiers. Sponsoring units also presented gifts and scholarships to children of people living on the island. Despite the hot weather and high intensity of performances, the art troupe always showed their pioneering spirit to bring vibrant and emotional performances to the officers and soldiers on the island.

On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Pham Thanh Kien respectfully commended the achievements that the officers and soldiers on the islands and DK1 Platform have achieved in the past time. Despite many difficulties and hardships, the weather is very harsh, but the comrades have always maintained a high spirit of vigilance, readiness to fight, actively increased production, improved the landscape and environment, built the islands stronger and stronger, the material and spiritual life of the officers and soldiers has been improved; meeting the requirements of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in the new situation.

Comrade Pham Thanh Kien believes that the officers and soldiers of the heroic Truong Sa island will always be united, ready to fight, steady in their guns, and steadfastly protect every inch of the island and sea of ​​the Fatherland; worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people.

On Truong Sa Island, the delegation performed the flag-raising ceremony and listened to the oath of officers and soldiers under the glorious flag of the Fatherland. After the flag-raising ceremony, officers, soldiers and people on the island performed the procession review ceremony. After that, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Martyrs Monument, President Ho Chi Minh Church and Truong Sa Pagoda. After that, they presented gifts to officers, soldiers and people on the island.

Although the voyage only lasted 6 days and the workload was very large, the working delegation took advantage of all the time to exchange, visit, and encourage the officers and soldiers on the island with a very positive, urgent, and highly responsible spirit. Thereby, successfully completing the assigned tasks, contributing to the success of Working Group 21's voyage.
