The conference received 90 presentations from leaders of the Party, Central Committees, Ministries, Branches, revolutionary veterans, generals, officers, scientific researchers, etc. The presentations mentioned and reflected comprehensively, richly and deeply, both affirming outstanding contributions in many fields and expressing the respect and deep gratitude of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense and our people to General Chu Huy Man.
Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army delivered a keynote speech at the Workshop.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army said: General Chu Huy Man (1913 - 2006), former member of the Politburo, former Vice Chairman of the State Council, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army... was a talented politician and military man, a shining example of revolutionary ethics. The General's birth name was Chu Van Dieu, born in Yen Luu commune, Yen Truong canton, Hung Nguyen district (now Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city), Nghe An province. Throughout his revolutionary activities, no matter what position he held; From Deputy Captain of the Red Self-Defense Team in the Nghe - Tinh Soviet movement to Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, Vice Chairman of the State Council, Comrade Chu Huy Man always adhered to the goals, ideals and path that the Party, Uncle Ho and our people had chosen, determined to excellently complete all assigned tasks; was a steadfast, indomitable communist soldier, always putting the interests of the Party and the people above all; was a politician and military man, with many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; was an example of pure revolutionary morality. Comrade Chu Huy Man was one of the few generals who was promoted from Major General to Senior General in 1974, and promoted to the rank of General in 1980."
The Organizing Committee of the Conference presented General Chu Huy Man's family with some valuable books written about him.
Mr. Thai Thanh Quy, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee emphasized: From the time he left revolutionary activities or matured to hold important positions in the Party, State and Army, comrade Chu Huy Man always showed affection, care and encouragement for every step of his hometown Nghe An. The homeland is forever proud of its excellent son, the General who is both literary and martial, of comrade "Hai Manh". Promoting the tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland, learning from the example of comrade General Chu Huy Man and generations of revolutionary predecessors, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An have persevered, overcome difficulties and challenges and made many important contributions through revolutionary periods, contributing with the people of the whole country to achieve glorious victories in the revolution to liberate the nation, unify the Fatherland, and fulfill noble international obligations.
In his closing speech at the workshop, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense affirmed: General Chu Huy Man is one of the outstanding students of President Ho Chi Minh - a steadfast communist soldier, absolutely loyal, devoted, fighting all his life for the ideals of national independence and socialism, for the happiness of the people; an outstanding leader of the Party, the nation and the Vietnamese revolution; a pure international soldier, an excellent strategist and commander, with great prestige of the Army, an outstanding son of Nghe An homeland. The workshop continued to affirm the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation, honoring the prestigious leader of the Party, the State, and the talented general of the Army. The results of the workshop will contribute to educating revolutionary traditions for cadres, soldiers and people, especially the young generation, to enhance patriotism, love for socialism and national pride and self-respect; to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern Vietnam People's Army, worthy of being the core force for the entire Party and people to firmly protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 16, the Organizing Committee and delegates went to Hung Hoa commune (Vinh city, Nghe An province) to offer flowers, incense, and commemorate General Chu Huy Man at the General's Memorial House; visited and presented gifts to policy families in Hung Hoa commune.
