Currently, non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases are responsible for nearly 70% of all deaths each year. The increase in non-communicable diseases is not accidental, it is a consequence of socio- economic development, urbanization and changes in lifestyle.

Core risk factors such as smoking, alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity have become increasingly common. Therefore, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases cannot rely solely on hospital treatment solutions but requires a proactive, comprehensive and multi-disciplinary prevention strategy.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing, sharing experiences and research results in many fields, from analyzing the epidemiological situation, controlling risk factors to management and treatment solutions in the community and applying digital transformation such as: Current situation and solutions for preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases; preventing and controlling the harmful effects of alcohol and tobacco to protect public health, especially young people; nutrition for people with diabetes and high blood pressure; using clean water to contribute to improving public health; implementing digital transformation in managing non-communicable diseases in the province...

Delegates said that the most profound meaning of non-communicable disease prevention and control is to invest in a healthy and sustainable future; in which, focusing on shifting from a curative health care model to primary and preventive health care, focusing on raising public awareness, building a healthy living environment and strengthening the grassroots health network. This is a strategy that requires the cooperation of the whole society, from policy makers; departments, sectors, organizations to each family and individual.

Through the workshop, we aim to find new strategic directions in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. The solutions shared at the workshop will become concrete actions, contributing to repelling the "silent pandemic", protecting and improving people's health, for the strength of the community and for a sustainable development future for the province.
