Workshop celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday in the Russian Federation

Within the framework of Vietnam Week in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on May 19, the Saint Petersburg City Government held a workshop to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Attending the workshop were Vice Chairman of the Legislative Council of Saint Petersburg Nikolai Bondarenko; Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi; Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission Nghiem Phu Cuong; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Pham Duy Trang; Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation Do Xuan Hoang, along with a large number of Vietnamese people living and working in the Russian Federation and Russian friends.

Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Luong Tam Quang sent a video recording to welcome the Conference.

In his message, Governor Beglov happily welcomed the delegates to the annual Vietnam Week in Saint Petersburg to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great leader Ho Chi Minh - the one who laid the foundation for the tradition of strong friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the fact that Saint Petersburg - the heroic city of Russia, the first place in Russia that President Ho Chi Minh set foot on, has organized the Vietnam Week event over the past years, and emphasized that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember the valuable support and assistance of the former Soviet Union and the present Russian Federation, including Saint Petersburg, for Vietnam in the cause of national liberation and reunification in the past, as well as in building and defending the homeland at present.

Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong expressed his emotion when joining the leaders of Saint Petersburg city to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader, the Father of the Vietnamese people, the national liberation hero, the outstanding cultural figure, the staunch communist soldier of the international revolutionary movement, the great friend and close comrade of the Russian people and peace-loving people around the world.

Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong hopes that the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, and between Dien Bien province and Saint Petersburg city in particular, will increasingly develop.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi affirmed that the conference to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh took place on a very special occasion: Vietnam celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Russia celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and Vietnam and the Russian Federation celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation Do Xuan Hoang emphasized that throughout history, the shining personality of President Ho Chi Minh has always existed. President Ho Chi Minh's life left many valuable lessons of the times.

At the workshop, there were many presentations continuing to clarify and affirm the stature, value, and everlasting vitality of Ho Chi Minh's legacy for Vietnam and the world, suggesting many issues to continue applying and creatively developing his thoughts in the new era of the nation.

Also on May 19, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​agencies affiliated to the Embassy, ​​Vietnamese delegations and a large number of Vietnamese people living, working and studying in the Russian Federation and Russian friends who love Vietnam offered flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Square named after him in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
