On the afternoon of March 23, the last bonsai trees were transferred by artisans from all over to the Quang Ngai Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center. All of them are the most beautiful and favorite trees of the artisans.
Although the bonsai exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Ngai province and the installation of the Party Congress project sign for the Quang Ngai Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center will not be held until tomorrow morning (March 24), many people have already come to admire the super trees.
A hundred years for bonsai shape
Mr. Tam Hoanh (75 years old, living in Quang Ngai city) was taken around the exhibition by his son and said in amazement: "Every tree is really so beautiful. I think many trees must be hundreds of years old to have such shape and age."
Among the bonsai trees at the exhibition, the most attractive to viewers is the trio of bonsai trees owned by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tai (Quang Ngai City). The most prominent is the bonsai tree named "Huyền Phượng Hoàng".
According to the artisans' assessment, this bonsai tree is a convergence of antiquity, strangeness, beauty, and literature. In 2024, the "Huyền Phượng Hoàng" bonsai tree was brought to Hanoi by Mr. Tài to attend the first Hanoi Ornamental Plants Festival and was honored with a silver prize.
"I am very happy that many people enjoy my ancient bonsai tree. I hope the trees I bring to the exhibition will help attract more tourists to the province," said Mr. Tai.

Supertree converges ancient, strange, beautiful, and literary
Walking around the exhibition, most of the created tree varieties are Duoi, Sanh, Khe, Hai Chau, Tung...
Among them are large trees with trunk diameters of up to several meters, along with very small miniature trees that are decades old.
Mr. Huynh Minh Giu, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Ornamental Plants Association, said the exhibition attracted more than 1,000 works from 12 provinces and cities. These are all precious ornamental plants, converging ancient, strange, beautiful and literary elements.
"The exhibition should have attracted many artisans from all over the country to bring trees to display. But this time, it was the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the provinces, so many artisans could not return in time," said Mr. Giu.
According to Mr. Giu, not only people in the province visited this bonsai exhibition, but since the bonsai trees were brought to the exhibition, many people from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, Quang Nam... also visited Quang Ngai.
Mr. Hung Nguyen, a bonsai player in Ho Chi Minh City, said he had visited many gardens in Quang Ngai to exchange and buy beautiful works. Now, hearing that Quang Ngai is organizing an exhibition, he flew out with his friends to attend.
"Every tree is beautiful, I will try to "hunt" for a satisfactory tree and work with the owner to own it after the exhibition ends. If we can't buy it, we will stay in Quang Ngai and attend the tourism week, go to Ly Son to visit," said Mr. Nguyen.
