DNVN - In October, the country had nearly 14,200 newly established enterprises with a registered capital of more than 153.5 trillion VND and a registered workforce of nearly 80,500 employees. Equivalent to an increase of 26.5% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 65.4% in registered capital.
According to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Planning and Investment ), in October, the country had nearly 14,200 newly established enterprises with a registered capital of more than 153.5 trillion VND and a registered number of nearly 80,500 employees. Equivalent to an increase of 26.5% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 65.4% in registered capital and an increase of 27.8% in the number of employees compared to September.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises decreased by 9.8%, registered capital increased by 9.5% and the number of employees decreased by 39.2%. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in October reached 10.8 billion VND, up 30.8% compared to the previous month and up 21.4% compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the whole country also has nearly 8,700 enterprises returning to operation, an increase of 33.5% over the previous month and an increase of 53.7% over the same period in 2023.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the whole country had nearly 136,100 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of nearly 1,312.1 trillion VND and a total registered number of nearly 815,600 employees. Equivalent to an increase of 1.9% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 4.1% in registered capital and a decrease of 8.7% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first 10 months of 2024 reached VND 9.6 billion, up 2.2% over the same period in 2023. The total registered capital added to the economy was nearly VND 2,613.1 trillion, down 4.7% over the same period in 2023.
Also in the first 10 months of 2024, the whole country had more than 66.2 thousand enterprises returning to operation (up 27.7% over the same period in 2023), bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises to more than 202.3 thousand enterprises, up 9.1% over the same period in 2023. On average, there are more than 20.2 thousand newly established and returning enterprises per month.
However, in October, 5,454 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend business, up 28.8% over the previous month and down 0.9% over the same period in 2023. In the first 10 months of 2024, the number of enterprises temporarily suspending business was more than 92.1 thousand enterprises, up 13.6% over the same period last year. On average, 17.3 thousand enterprises withdrew from the market per month.
Regarding investment capital from the State budget, the General Statistics Office said that in the first 10 months of 2024, this capital is estimated to reach 64.3% of the annual plan, up 1.8% over the same period last year. Foreign direct investment (FDI) implemented in Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2024 is estimated to reach 19.58 billion USD, up 8.8% over the same period last year.
