More than 2,000 people participated in the first running day of the year

BTO-On the morning of January 1, 2024, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City organized the first running day of the year - Welcoming the New Year 2024, at Vo Van Kiet Park, Phu Thuy Ward. This is an activity to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the New Year 2024; to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024).

The first running day of 2024 mobilized about 2,200 people including officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces, people and tourists to run and walk about 1,000m. Specifically, it will start from Vo Van Kiet Park Gate (Vo Van Kiet Street) then turn left on Nguyen Gia Tu Street, turn left on Truong Han Sieu Street, turn left on Tuyen Quang Street and turn left on Vo Van Kiet Street (finish line in front of Vo Van Kiet Park Gate).

On this occasion , Phan Thiet City People's Committee also organized a Cross Country Race with 2 distances of 3km for women and 5km for men to compete for individual and team prizes . Nearly 150 athletes (male and female) participated .

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nam Long - Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee, said: The first running day of the year - New Year Cross-Country Race is an activity organized annually by the city to encourage all classes of people to participate in physical exercise, gradually build the habit of regular physical exercise to improve physical fitness; build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.
