On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Nam Province and Da Nang City, on the evening of March 18, in Da Nang City, the Liaison Committee of Quang Nam-Da Nang Journalists (period 1975-1997) organized a meeting with Quang Nam-Da Nang journalists from after the liberation of their homeland until before 1997. Attending the meeting were Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Alternate Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.
More than 200 journalists, including leaders and former leaders of the Representative Office of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the Central Highlands; Vietnam News Agency in the Central Highlands; Voice of Vietnam's Central Region Resident Office; Vietnam Television Center in the Central Highlands; Quang Nam - Da Nang Newspaper; Quang Nam - Da Nang Radio and Television Station; Da Nang Newspaper; Quang Nam Newspaper; Da Nang Radio and Television Station; Quang Nam Radio and Television Station attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Quy Nhon, former Editor-in-Chief of Quang Nam - Da Nang Newspaper, Head of the Liaison Committee of Quang Nam - Da Nang Journalists (1975-1997) recalled the memories of Quang Nam - Da Nang journalists in their journey to build their homeland. Like all provinces and cities in the country, over the past 50 years, Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province have had to focus on healing the wounds of war and rebuilding their homeland after the liberation day. In that context, right from the first day of establishment, Quang Nam - Da Nang journalists, whether they were from the war zone, from the North or new to the profession after the liberation day, were united, loving, attached to and helped each other in their homeland; at the same time creating a close relationship and mutual support among journalists across the country. All aim for the common goal of bringing basic knowledge, high sense of responsibility, and strong political will to serve the homeland and the people... Over all this time, the QN-DN press has always accompanied the Party, government, front, political and social organizations, and all cadres, soldiers, and people of Quang Nam - Da Nang in carrying out their political tasks.
Since then, journalists in QN-DN have promoted the fine traditions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, constantly striving to cultivate and train the moral qualities of journalists, devoting all their heart, strength, intelligence and courage to best fulfill their duties as journalists. Today, journalists in QN-DN, although there are many differences in age, life, work, social position as well as dedication, the past years have been a very good time - a milestone and a memorable mark that will never fade.
With the theme “remembering each other and finding a way back”, at the meeting, generations of journalists from Quang Nam - Da Nang met, shook hands, encouraged and greeted each other, reminded each other, and reminisced about the years of working together, contributing to the revolutionary journalism cause. At the same time, they reminded each other of their responsibility to encourage, support, and educate their children to become good citizens, useful to their homeland and country, and worthy successors to the career of their fathers and brothers...
