More than 40 businesses and units pledged to support the work of overcoming the consequences of bombs, mines and explosives.

On the afternoon of October 17, the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army informed that on October 21, 2025, the Ministry of National Defense will organize a conference to mobilize funding for the work of overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs, mines and explosives in Vietnam.

The conference aims to implement Decision No. 4167/QD-BQP dated August 25, 2025 of the Minister of National Defense approving Plan No. 1063/KH-VNMAC of the Vietnam National Mine Action Center on organizing a conference to mobilize funding for resources to serve the work of overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs and mines in Vietnam.

With the theme: "Mobilizing domestic and international resources for the work of overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs, mines and explosives in Vietnam", the conference was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Standing Office of Steering Committee 701.

The conference aims to raise awareness, responsibility, and consensus among the community, all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and businesses in overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs, mines, and explosives in Vietnam; at the same time, improve the effectiveness of international cooperation, mobilize funding, and attract domestic and international resources.

The conference is expected to include the following contents: Screening of documentary films on the level of pollution, consequences and efforts of Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs and mines; announcement of the Mine Remediation Support Fund managed by the Ministry of National Defense; official information on the results of implementing Program 504 in 2023-2024, directions for the next phase; presentations by delegates from ministries, branches, localities, and international organizations; signing of memoranda of understanding and funding commitments; supporting livelihoods for bomb and mine victims; awarding organizations with outstanding achievements in overcoming the consequences of bomb and mines in Vietnam...

Currently, the conference organizing committee has sent open letters and invitations to agencies, units, organizations and businesses with the desire to share a small part of the pain caused by bombs, mines and explosives so that no one is left behind. More than 40 businesses and units have attended and pledged to support with an amount of up to billions of VND, such as: Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro; Corporation 319/Ministry of National Defense; Lung Lo Construction Corporation...
