The 2025 National Press Festival is organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association, under the direction of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This is a practical activity towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) and is an event of special significance within the framework of activities to celebrate the historical milestone of 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
According to the Organizing Committee, with the theme "Vietnamese Press - Loyal, Creative, Courageous, Innovative for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", the 2025 National Press Festival will be a highlight of the spirit of innovation, creativity, and comprehensive vision with many impressive exhibition activities, rich and practical professional activities, and unique cultural and artistic programs. This year's Press Festival is an extremely important activity, marking the 100-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, so the organization work is carefully prepared, the activities within the framework of the Press Festival ensure to fully demonstrate the identity of the Vietnamese press from traditional to modern, creative on the basis of inheriting and continuing history, the content must be attractive, highlighting the great achievements and contributions of the press to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
The 2025 National Press Festival has more than 80 central and local press agencies participating, with nearly 130 unique press exhibition booths of newspapers and magazines from popular to specialized, of major journalism training institutions, covering all aspects of the country's economic - political - cultural - social - defense - security - foreign affairs life. Many press agencies demonstrate multi-platform press products, applying new technologies such as AI, 3D modeling, holofan, virtual reality... Including special exhibition booths of some key press agencies such as Vietnam News Agency, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Military Press, Public Security Press...
At the central exhibition space of the theme “100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press: Achievements and trends in press development in the new era”, for the first time, a space displaying the history of press was organized with profound and elaborate content at the Press Festival, hosted by the Vietnam Press Museum. On this occasion, the Ministry of Science and Technology also organized the issuance ceremony of a special stamp set “Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day”.
This year, the Vietnam Journalists Association continues to organize the 2nd National Press Forum, including 12 discussion sessions on hot topics of interest to the press, such as: Vietnamese press - vision in the new era; Voice of women in news management; Developing young user groups; AI and newsroom strategies; Data journalism in Vietnamese newsrooms; What strategies does television have to retain readers? How does radio compete in the development trend of Podcasts; Personalizing content to keep readers loyal; Revenue sources - which mechanism is really effective for the press; Resolution 18 and the requirement for innovation in press personnel...
In addition to press exhibitions and professional discussions, the 2025 National Press Festival also has many outstanding sideline activities such as the 3rd Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament, experiential activities, entertainment, cultural and artistic performances, and the awarding of impressive and unique awards at the Press Festival...
The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Press Festival will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the National Convention Center, and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam. The closing ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, and will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television and Voice of Vietnam.
128 outstanding press works received the 2025 National Press Award
According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 National Press Awards have the participation of 17/21 Inter-Associations, 29 affiliated Associations, 59/63 Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations. Through the preliminary and final rounds, the 2025 National Press Awards Council selected and awarded prizes to 128 outstanding press works, including: 13 A prizes, 27 B prizes, 49 C prizes and 39 Encouragement prizes.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year is the first year that the National Press Awards has included two new categories of awards: Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism. In general, the entries this year have met the selection criteria, comprehensively and deeply reflecting the political, economic, cultural, social, security, defense and foreign affairs life of the country in 2024, with prominent topics such as: Streamlining the apparatus to bring the country into a new era, institutional reform, procedural reform, and administrative unit arrangement; digital transformation, green transformation, green economic development... Hot social issues such as: Damages from super typhoon Yagi and urgent relief activities for people, production restoration, deforestation, overexploitation of mineral resources, eradication of smuggled and counterfeit goods, driver's license testing issues... Many works are written about good people and good deeds such as: Female teachers in mountainous areas, Party cell secretaries in villages, portraits of young female doctors or blind students... with noble, convincing and touching gestures.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Permanent Vice President of the National Press Awards Council, commented: “The highlight of this year is the multimedia press products, creative press that press agencies have invested in elaborately, applying modern press technology, developing multi-platform, multimedia press but still standardizing content, ensuring political, ideological, accurate, timely, having positive and strong social impact, increasing attractiveness and increasing public access. The works selected by the Final Council are very worthy of being awarded the 19th National Press Awards”.
The 19th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2024 will be held on the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21, 2025, at My Dinh Athletics Palace and will be broadcast live on VTV2 channel of Vietnam Television, VOV2 of Voice of Vietnam.
