
These days, although busy with the arrangement and activities of the new commune according to the Central's policy, the atmosphere of preparing for the Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Nam Giang district is still being vigorously implemented by the localities.
This meaningful event received much anticipation and excitement from the people, because this was considered the last public festival before Nam Giang district was dissolved, preparing for the arrangement of new administrative units at the commune level.
Bustling preparations
Although participating in the festival for the 9th time, artisan Bhling Hanh (in Cong Don village, Zuoi commune) still expressed her enthusiasm when mobilizing more than 20 people who are knowledgeable about the traditions and cultural identity of the Co Tu ethnic group to practice and prepare to participate in the festival.

For elder Bhling Hanh, this participation is with the desire to exchange and learn experiences in the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of local people.
“This is also an opportunity for the Co Tu, Ve, Ta Rieng, Tay, Nung people... to continue to unite and develop together. In the future, when there is no longer a district level, we also hope that the cultural festival will be inherited and organized at the new commune level so that people can exchange, learn and contribute to the work of preserving cultural identity” - elder Bhling Hanh confided.
According to Mr. Hien Tam - Vice Chairman of Dac Pre Commune People's Committee, although the work is quite busy at this time, the local government still cares and regularly directs the preparation for the festival activities. Not only artisans, but also people often participate in supporting the practice, with the desire to soon witness the community's common festival.

“In addition to preparing materials to build traditional houses, we mobilized forces to participate in cultural and artistic activities with strong indigenous elements. In particular, we focused on selecting actors - people who are knowledgeable about performing arts, to contribute to the overall success of the festival,” said Mr. Tam.
Honoring traditional identity
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung - Director of the Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Giang district said that, in parallel with traditional cultural activities, the series of festival events was followed by a special art program taking place on the opening night of June 22, lasting 60 minutes, serving the people and tourists.
With the theme “Nam Giang - Echoes of identity, marks of a journey”, the art program includes 3 chapters, from “Primitive lullaby - Immortal epic”, “Echoes of identity, marks of a journey” to the folk performance “Melody of mountains and forests”, recreating the entire process of formation and development of Nam Giang district over 77 years of history.

“All preparations for the festival are ready. This is the time for us to continue promoting the image and people of Nam Giang to a large number of tourists inside and outside the province. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the ethnic minorities of Nam Giang district to join in the general atmosphere of the festival before the new commune is arranged,” Mr. Dung shared.
Mr. Chau Van Ngo - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee said that the 2025 Nam Giang District Ethnic Culture Festival is an opportunity to look back on a journey with many efforts of the Party Committee, government and people in the journey of building and developing the homeland of Giang.
This is also an opportunity to promote extensive propaganda activities to cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life about the Party and Government 's policy on streamlining and reorganizing the new administrative apparatus nationwide.

“Through the festival activities, we hope to create a playground for ethnic minorities in the district to exchange and learn experiences in preserving traditional cultural beauty, as well as promote cultural and artistic activities at the grassroots level. Thereby, introducing the unique and typical cultural features of ethnic minorities in the district, contributing to promoting tourism products of Nam Giang district to domestic and foreign tourists” - Mr. Ngo said.
In addition to traditional folk games such as tug of war, stilt walking, stick pushing... Nam Giang District Ethnic Culture Festival also features many exciting and attractive artistic activities including: Space for displaying historical artifacts, cultural traditions of Nam Giang District ethnic groups; displaying socio -economic achievements, security - defense and typical products of each locality; performing traditional musical instruments combined with sculpture, brocade weaving and weaving of ethnic groups in the district.
Along with that, organizing culinary competitions, traditional costume performances, gong and drum performances, folk games, night markets... promise to bring people and tourists an impressive and unique festival.
