Due to economic difficulties and a low starting point, 5 years ago, Mr. Tran Van Thanh's family in Truong An village was selected by the Fatherland Front of the former Hong Loc commune to receive a sow from a charity program as capital. Thanks to good care and good herd raising, Mr. Thanh was able to breed calves quite quickly (now has 3). He also boldly saved up and borrowed money to buy 2 more calves to create a foundation for a sustainable escape from poverty.
By 2023, the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025 (abbreviated as the poverty reduction program) will continue to support Mr. Thanh's family with 150 breeding chickens, 200 kg of feed, biological products... to motivate them to rise up. Currently, his family is maintaining a stable flock of free-range chickens with 3 batches per year, with a scale of 150 - 250 chickens/batch, bringing in an income of about 15 - 20 million VND/batch.

Mr. Thanh shared: “The family has always received the attention, encouragement and help of the Fatherland Front, the Women's Union and the Farmers' Union at all levels, so we have been doing business in the right direction and raising livestock has been growing. From raising livestock combined with producing more than 1 hectare of rice fields and doing other side jobs, the family has stabilized their lives. By the end of 2024, they had escaped poverty and now have enough conditions to take care of their children's education."
Implementing the Poverty Reduction Program for the period 2021 - 2025, Hong Loc commune has had 269 poor, near-poor, newly escaped poverty, and disaster-affected households supported with cows and chickens for livelihood with a total cost of more than 4.4 billion VND. This is considered an extremely important resource for disadvantaged families in the area to benefit, helping them have more suitable jobs, increase their daily income and gradually improve their lives.

During the implementation process, the Fatherland Front and local organizations always left a clear mark. Mr. Ngo Duc Hung - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hong Loc commune said: "The associations at all levels always accompany members in difficulties in implementing and spreading the effectiveness of livelihood models. We have participated enthusiastically, effectively and responsibly to select the right beneficiaries, advise and support models suitable for each family, bring livelihoods back in time, guide experience and science and technology to farmers, strengthen supervision to avoid loss of capital... Such attention and participation are not only recognized and highly appreciated by members, but also contribute to helping livelihood models be better maintained, and disadvantaged groups benefit the most."

With the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love and mutual assistance", the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in Hong Loc commune have also mobilized and made good use of resources so that disadvantaged people can have solid and spacious houses. Along with large-scale housing support programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Public Security , Vingroup Corporation, the Fatherland Front and organizations in the area have also called on and connected with kind-hearted people inside and outside the province to help build 67 houses worth 3 billion VND, ensuring "3 hard", meeting residential housing standards. In addition, from 2020 to now, the Fatherland Front and organizations in Hong Loc have also mobilized donations of 605 million VND to give 1,374 gifts to disadvantaged families during the holidays.
In addition to the financial support (VND 50-100 million depending on the time and target) to buy the main materials (bricks, stones, cement, steel), in every house there is enthusiastic help from relatives, neighbors, youth union members, veterans, and women. In addition to encouraging the spirit and participating in working days, union members and association members also support some materials, give household items, and lend money. Therefore, the gratitude houses, solidarity houses, charity houses, and houses of love built in the commune are always imbued with affection and rich in humanity.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh (70 years old, near-poor household) in Dai Lu village shared: “Thanks to the help of the Fatherland Front, organizations, and kind-hearted people, at the end of 2024, I was able to demolish my dilapidated house and build a new, solid house of 50 square meters with a total investment of 110 million VND, including 75 million VND in cash and about 40 working days. Because I no longer have to worry about unsafe rain and wind, and makeshift accommodation, my health and illness have improved significantly.”

Mr. Ho Bao Khanh - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Loc commune affirmed: With the spirit of "For the poor - no one is left behind", the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in Hong Loc commune have persistently and responsibly participated in implementing the sustainable poverty reduction policy in general and concretizing the poverty reduction program in particular. Whether in the position of implementing or advising or connecting, the front officers and organizations have left clear marks through each sub-project, each model, each house, in all villages, at all times. Thereby, contributing to adding motivation and confidence for disadvantaged people to confidently rise up in life.
“In the coming time, we will continue to innovate methods, improve the quality of activities, promote the spirit of solidarity, and uphold our responsibility to the community to help more poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged union members. In addition to the resources from the Poverty Reduction Program, we have also developed targets and plans to mobilize and call on each union to create more resources to build houses, support livelihoods, and give gifts to vulnerable groups in the area,” Mr. Ho Bao Khanh added.
