Hongqi Tiangong 06, Chinese luxury electric SUV from $25,500

On March 31, Hongqi launched its new all-electric SUV, the Tiangong 06, in six versions built on the 400V platform. The 2025 Hongqi Tiangong 06 is priced from 184,800 yuan ($25,500) to 230,800 yuan ($31,800). Four more versions based on the 900V platform will also be launched in the future.

Previously, Hongqi's Tiangong series launched the Tiangong 05 and 08 in the Chinese market. Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the length, width and height of the new 2025 Hongqi Tiangong 06 are 4750/1900/1640 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm and a drag coefficient of 0.259Cd.

On the exterior, popular design elements such as a closed front, slim headlights and hidden door handles are present, combined with 19-inch or 20-inch wheels. A red Hongqi logo is also placed in the middle of the front, and when combined with the fork-shaped taillights, it makes the car more recognizable.

The intelligent driving version is equipped with Hongqi's Sinan intelligent driving system, which uses a camera-only solution to achieve level 2.9 advanced driving assistance, supporting NOA (Navigation on Autonomous Driving) in urban and highways, as well as parking assistance.

The interior comes in five colors, namely white, purple, brown, gray, and earth brown. Most notable is the 15.6-inch 2.5K floating center console screen with the integrated Lingxi smart cockpit system developed by Hongqi, which comes with an AI voice assistant. The traditional LCD panel has been removed, replaced by an AR-HUD.

Furthermore, the standard trunk volume is 472 liters and can be expanded to 1611 liters after the rear seats are folded down. Both RWD and AWD are offered. The RWD has an electric motor with a maximum output of 210 kW (282 hp) and a maximum torque of 317 Nm, combined with a 62 kWh or 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack supplied by CATL.

The CLTC's operating ranges are 520 km and 700 km respectively. Meanwhile, the AWD comes with an additional 202 kW (271 hp) front electric motor, bringing the total output to 412 kW (553 hp) and torque to 623 Nm.

Combined with an 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, the CLTC has a range of 660 km. With fast charging mode, the Hongqi Tiangong 06 electric SUV takes 20 minutes to recharge the battery from 10% to 80%.

While the 900V-based versions are not available for pre-sale at this time, it has been revealed that the RWD version is equipped with a 300 kW (402 hp)/450 Nm electric motor while the AWD version is equipped with an additional 180 kW (241 hp) front electric motor with a total torque of 770 Nm.

Both are paired with a 98 kWh three-cell lithium battery. The RWD has a CLTC range of 780 km and the AWD has a CLTC range of 740 km.
