(GLO) - That is the theme of this year's Vietnamese Family Day (June 28). Promoting and honoring the beautiful and core values ​​of the family is a way to work together to build a prosperous and strong nation.

A harmonious marriage leads to a peaceful family life.

They came together out of genuine love, but building the happy and fulfilling family they have today has been a long process of joint effort and nurturing by Mr. Doan Van Thao and Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Hieu (Dek village, Hbong commune, Chu Se district).

In 2000, Mr. Thao and Ms. Hieu got married. Ms. Hieu said that when they first got married, neither of them had a stable job. Mr. Thao worked hard as a laborer, while she sold fruit at the market. When their two children, Doan Truong Bao Ngoc Thu (born in 2006) and Doan Ba ​​Thuan Thien (born in 2007), were born, their family life became even more difficult. However, they always encouraged each other to work hard and build a happy family.

“My hometown is in Binh Dinh, and my husband Thao is in Thanh Hoa . Both sets of parents live far away and are in difficult circumstances. Although they love their children very much, they can't offer much support. Understanding this, my husband and I work hard and save money to provide for our children. After a period of hard work, in 2013, we were able to buy a small house. My husband and I always support each other in our work, share household chores, and raise our children. For our family, happiness is simply peace, our children's health, their awareness of learning and self-improvement, and a loving, equal, and supportive relationship between husband and wife in both work and life,” Ms. Hieu shared.

Mr. Ksor Thu and Ms. Rơ Lan Bệ (Ser-Dơ Mó village, Kông Htok commune, Chư Sê district) have also been happily married for over 10 years. They always understand, share, and support each other in their work and take care of their family together. Therefore, they are one of the exemplary and model cultural families in the locality.

Every day, Mr. Thu tends to over 1 hectare of coffee plants, while Ms. Be is a teacher at Tran Hung Dao Primary School (Al Ba commune, Chu Se district). Their two children have both been excellent students for many years. Mr. Thu said: “My wife and I were born and raised in the same village. When we first got married, I was very worried. But then we encouraged each other to work hard, shared our joys and sorrows, and found common ground, so we gradually overcame the difficulties. I think family pressure is real, but as long as husband and wife love each other and the children are filial and well-behaved, all difficulties and obstacles can be overcome. At that point, the family truly becomes a solid support for each member, creating motivation to strive and giving wings to bigger dreams and aspirations.”

Promoting the building of cultured and progressive families.

Vietnamese Family Day (June 28th) is an occasion to remind everyone to cherish, love, and care for their loved ones in the family. The word "family" is always sacred and precious in everyone's life. However, building a happy family is not easy and requires many factors.

Every year, localities organize registration and evaluation for the title of "Culturally Exemplary Family". By the end of 2022, the entire province had 302,000 out of 369,992 families meeting the cultural standards, achieving a rate of 81.62%, an increase of 2% compared to 2021.

Ms. Le Thi Hong, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Chu Se District, said: "In response to this year's Vietnamese Family Day, the Department, in coordination with the District Women's Union, organized the 'Family Meal, Warmth and Love' competition with cooking, cultural performances, and sports events. Families participated in a joyful, warm, and loving atmosphere, contributing to spreading awareness in the community about the responsibility of preserving family harmony and the beautiful traditional cultural values."

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated: "Each person has their own way of building a happy family, but generally, it includes elements such as respect, responsibility, equality, sharing, and love. With the responsibilities assigned, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has closely coordinated with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to implement family-related work and prevent and combat domestic violence quite effectively; built a database on families; replicated exemplary family models; and organized a competition to learn about family law and the prevention and combat of domestic violence in the province in 2023 with the theme 'Happy Family - Prosperous Nation'."

This is a practical activity that not only motivates, encourages, and spreads the beautiful family cultural traditions, but also promotes solutions for building prosperous, progressive, and happy families, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
