“ I was very lucky not to be seriously injured, but my knee is swollen and I can’t practice right now. If I hadn’t jumped in time to avoid Quach Cong Dinh’s tackle, I could have broken my leg, ” striker Nguyen Van Tung told VTC News.

In the 71st minute of the match between Phu Tho Club and PVF-CAND Club, striker Nguyen Van Tung received the ball on the left wing after a pass from his teammate. He was tackled by Quach Cong Dinh (Phu Tho Club). Van Tung was still able to continue playing but he had difficulty moving when the match ended.
It is worth mentioning that referee Tran Trung Hieu only gave a yellow card to Quach Cong Dinh and this decision was met with strong opposition from the players and coaching staff of PVF-CAND Club. The injury may cause Van Tung to miss the U22 Vietnam training session in June.

PVF-CAND Club leaders are not satisfied with Quach Cong Dinh's tackle and the lack of deterrent punishment. The team is considering filing a complaint about the said tackle.
Van Tung is a player of the Vietnam U22 team. He was called up by coach Troussier to prepare for the 2023 Doha Cup. After that, PVF-CAND Club wanted to have enough players to train for the First Division, so he returned to his home team.
Van Tung grew up from the youth training center of Thanh Hoa Club. He was called up to the youth team many times. During his career, the striker born in 2022 won the National U17 Championship with Thanh Hoa U17. Notably, he defeated PVF U17 in the final match.
Coach Mauro has high expectations for Van Tung as he is often placed in the starting lineup or on the bench to create breakthroughs. PVF-CAND Club aims to be promoted to V-League in the 2023 season.
