On that basis, the Ethnic Committee has developed Plan No. 428/KH-BDT dated May 17, 2022 to implement the Project on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Objective of Project 06: Complete integration and provide information authentication service on Identity Card number (9 digits) with Citizen Identification on the National Public Service Portal so that 100% of electronic identification accounts of individuals created by the National Public Service Portal and Public Service Portals at all levels can be authenticated with electronic identities provided by the Ministry of Public Security .
An electronic identification account is a collection of login names (which are the citizen's personal identification numbers) and passwords (sent via SMS to each individual). This account is managed and authenticated on the national electronic identification application (VNeID).
VNeID is an electronic identification application. nation developed by the Ministry of Public Security to bring many utilities and features to serve the people.
All officials, civil servants, public employees, workers and citizens install the national electronic identification application on mobile devices and use the application's digital services, features and utilities.
How to register for the national electronic identification application (VNeID)
After successfully activating their electronic identification account, citizens can log in and use functions and utilities on the VNeID application such as:
Solving public services online: notification of residence, permanent and temporary residence registration, temporary absence declaration... will automatically fill in information into registration forms without having to declare or fill in information multiple times, helping to save a lot of time and costs for declaration forms, reducing many procedural steps that need to be resolved; providing and sharing your information with third parties through scanning QR codes.
Outstanding features: Paper wallet helps citizens replace chip-embedded ID cards and other registered documents displayed on the VneID application such as driver's licenses, vehicle registration, health insurance, etc., thus, when people conduct administrative transactions, they will minimize the number of documents they have to carry; perform financial transactions such as paying electricity and water bills, paying social insurance and health insurance, transferring money, etc.
