Huong Giang shares reasons why she deserves to be crowned Miss Universe 2025

(Dan Tri) - Vietnam's representative - Huong Giang - has just answered the international media about why she deserves to become Miss Universe 2025. Her speech in English quickly went viral.

Huong Giang shared: “I believe it is time to write history. My appearance in this contest is to carry the hope of a community, adding meaning to the beauty and value of women. I also believe that true courage can change destiny.”

She would like to thank the audience and media at home and abroad for accompanying and supporting her journey at Miss Universe 2025.

Up to now, Huong Giang and 122 contestants have completed more than half of the competition. The Vietnamese representative is present in most of the official voting rankings.

In two important categories - Beyond The Crown (Meaningful Social Project) and Most Beautiful People (Inspiring Beauty) - Huong Giang is holding the top position.

In the People's Choice rankings, she is constantly in the top 3. According to the rules, the winner of this category will get a special ticket to the final top 30. Voting period lasts until November 19.

This year's contest took place from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand, bringing together 123 contestants from around the world .

Huong Giang is the only transgender contestant and is also among the oldest contestants in the competition. However, this has not been an obstacle as she has maintained a stable performance, spread positive energy and scored points thanks to her confidence and professionalism.

Since the beginning of the season, the Vietnamese beauty has always appeared with a neat and elegant image, communicating naturally in front of the camera and showing her ability to control the stage. Maintaining a positive attitude, avoiding noise or tricks helps her score points in the eyes of international audiences.

Beauty sites such as Missosology and Sash Factor (Philippines) both highly appreciated Huong Giang’s performance, predicting that she could make it into the top 15. Sash Factor commented that she possesses “a professional stage presence, good communication skills and positive energy”.

Huong Giang was announced as Vietnam's representative in September. According to the Miss Universe Vietnam Organization, she is a testament to the courage, resilience and talent of modern Vietnamese women.

The decision to choose Huong Giang was a big surprise, because she is the first transgender beauty of Vietnam and also the first transgender contestant of Asia to participate in this arena.

She once affirmed: “I do not take away the opportunity of any other woman. Together we define the strength and success of women in all circumstances. This is no longer a contest just for beautiful girls, that era is over.”

In interviews, Huong Giang often emphasizes the message of gender equality and eliminating prejudice. She believes that the appearance of diverse women, from mothers, family women to transgender people, is a testament to the progress of the global beauty playground.

“My appearance does not take away from the identity of Miss Universe but is a testament to the diversity that the contest aims for,” she said.

The singer and beauty queen also affirmed that she did not participate in the contest to seek fame, but wanted the world to see that "someone like her can also be elegant and beautiful", thereby changing public perception.

“In my 13 years in the industry, no one has given me any opportunity. Everything I have is the result of my relentless efforts since I was 20 years old. I don’t know where this journey will lead, but if I have the chance to make an impact, I will do it not only for myself but also for those who have placed their hopes in me,” she said before her departure.

Currently, the Miss Universe 2025 contestants have left Phuket to continue their schedule in Pattaya (Thailand), preparing for activities before the semi-finals and final night on November 21.
