RESPONDING TO THE MONTH OF ACTION ON LABOR SAFETY AND HYGIENE IN 2025: Strengthening measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene

As a 100% foreign-invested enterprise, mainly producing sports shoes for export, Viet Power Company Limited (Hai Hau) currently has over 6,300 workers, of which the proportion of female workers accounts for 92%. With the advantage of 100% of workers being union members, every year the Executive Board of the Company's Grassroots Union (CĐCS) not only does a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, but also proactively advises the company's leaders to plan, develop internal rules and regulations, improve working conditions for workers, review and develop safe working procedures and measures at the enterprise in the collective labor agreement. Responding to the 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month with the theme: "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace", the Company's Trade Union has developed a plan to strive for 100% of workers to have access to communication information on occupational safety and health, to participate in training courses, to be equipped with labor protection equipment, to participate in drills, to handle and respond to situations when occupational accidents, fires and explosions occur... Accordingly, to ensure that 100% of workers have access to communication activities, to increase awareness and self-awareness in implementing measures to ensure safety and hygiene in labor and production, the Company's Trade Union has diversified forms of propaganda through employee conferences, mid-term and final reviews, and included the content of implementing occupational safety and health work in monthly and quarterly emulation assessments. In addition, the Company's Trade Union strengthens coordination with professionals to organize inspections, assessments, and reviews of high-risk positions and jobs to regularly improve working conditions and environments and provide workers with adequate protective equipment; assigns executive committee members and workers to participate in training on measures to ensure occupational safety and health, prevent occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and prevent fires and explosions organized by the superior and local Trade Unions; invites experts from functional sectors to organize drills on emergency plans for occupational accidents and incident handling, strictly implements the regime of periodic maintenance of machinery and inspection of equipment with strict technical requirements; regularly reviews, maintains or replaces degraded or damaged machinery systems...; focuses on health care, organizes periodic health check-ups and in-depth examinations for 100% of workers. The Union also continues to maintain and develop emulation movements such as: "Good workers", "Creative workers", "Promoting initiatives, technical improvements, rationalizing production", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" not only to improve productivity, quality, product design, save time, materials, limit errors, failures, affecting production progress and costs but also to promote creativity, protect the environment, build a working environment in the enterprise that is increasingly professional, effective and has better conditions to take care of the lives of workers. Thanks to doing a good job of ensuring occupational safety and health, for many consecutive years, Viet Power Company Limited has not had any occupational safety and health incidents, and has been commended and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), the Provincial and Hai Hau District Labor Federations.

To contribute to ensuring occupational safety and health, every year the Provincial Federation of Labor develops plans and directs trade union organizations to coordinate with the government, professionals, and workers to promote propaganda; organize and coordinate training courses, seminars, and talks on occupational safety and health. On average, every year, the Provincial Federation of Labor organizes 2-3 conferences on legal advice and mobile occupational safety and health for thousands of workers at foreign-invested companies, companies with a large number of workers, and companies that need to ensure high occupational safety in industries such as construction, mechanics, garment, metallurgy, etc.; compiles and publishes more than 10,000 leaflets with content on legal advice and occupational safety and health; organizes a model of your health, propagates measures to ensure occupational safety and reproductive health care for female workers. Every year, 100% of state-owned enterprises and about 80% of non-state-owned enterprises organize conferences for civil servants, public employees, and workers to receive opinions from workers on repairing facilities, investing in equipment, and labor protection; arranging for professional periodic maintenance of machinery and factories, installing systems to improve working conditions, production sites, and protect the general environment of the enterprise... In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized 2 mobile legal consulting conferences on occupational safety and health for 550 workers at LongYu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Nam Truc) and Smart Shirts Vietnam Knitting Garment Co., Ltd., Bao Minh Industrial Park (Vu Ban); organized a model of your health, with the content of free health examination and consultation for 500 female workers at Thanh Bach Vietnam Shoes One Member Co., Ltd., Hoa Xa Industrial Park ( Nam Dinh city)...

In particular, responding to the 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month, closely following the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the plan to implement the 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month of the Provincial People's Committee with the theme "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace", the Provincial Confederation of Labor has focused on key tasks such as: Promoting propaganda activities through organizing conferences, seminars, and thematic talks; propaganda on mass media and social networking platforms... In the first quarter of 2025, 89% of state administrative agencies and public service units organized conferences for cadres, civil servants, and public employees; 65% of enterprises organizing conferences for workers have integrated propaganda on occupational safety and health work. In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinates with functional agencies such as the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Health , and Provincial Social Insurance to compile and publish propaganda documents on occupational safety and hygiene, occupational accident and disease insurance policies; improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, focusing on in-depth examination of contents related to occupational diseases and labor rehabilitation...

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor directs each grassroots union to organize at least one practical activity with the motto "Each grassroots union - one benefit for union members", promoting emulation movements such as good workers, creative workers, promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, promoting initiatives, technical improvements, applying technology, practicing thrift, improving productivity and product quality... Promoting coordination between trade union organizations with functional agencies, authorities at the same level and employers in implementing specific programs and actions to prevent occupational accidents and diseases; improve working conditions, launch emulation, promote the movement of workers participating in occupational safety and health work, contributing to building a safety culture at the workplace.
