Forlan was an example of perseverance, playing until the age of 40 before officially retiring. After leaving Europe in 2012, he played in Brazil until 2014, then continued his career in Japan with Cerezo Osaka (Dang Van Lam's old team). He then played in India and Hong Kong before retiring as a player.
"The important thing in my career is that I never gave up. I want to tell young people, especially football players who are just starting to pursue their dreams: Work hard, and enjoy the path you have chosen, whether it is football or any other profession," Forlan shared inspirationally.
