According to records, the tornado caused severe damage in many areas in the district. Many houses collapsed and had their roofs blown off; crops and trees were broken, seriously affecting people's lives and production. A quick report from the district's Department of Agriculture and Environment said that a total of 18 houses were affected, of which 6 were completely collapsed and 12 had their roofs blown off.
District leaders promptly supported funding and encouraged people.
At the same time, due to the impact of thunderstorms, two fishing boats sank: fishing boat CM-05770-TS owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1958, residing in Hamlet 3, Khanh Hoi Commune). Mr. Phuc was rescued in time and is now safe; fishing boat CM-05908-TS owned by Mr. Ho Van Dien (born in 1968, residing in Hamlet 1, Khanh Tien Commune). Currently, Khanh Tien Commune People's Committee is coordinating with Khanh Tien Border Guard Station and functional forces to actively search and rescue, the extent of damage has not been determined.
To promptly share the difficulties with the people, U Minh district supported each household whose house collapsed with 3 million VND, and each household whose house had its roof blown off with 2 million VND from the district's social security fund. This is a practical source of encouragement, helping people gradually overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
Many houses were completely destroyed after the storm.
Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Liem requested local authorities to continue to grasp the situation, promptly report and mobilize more social resources to support people to overcome difficulties, restore production and stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
