Hyundai Elexio is a completely new electric SUV, which was first launched in the Chinese market in May 2025. Until now, the Beijing Hyundai joint venture has officially announced the interior image of this model.

Through the images released by the company, it can be seen that the car's interior stands out with dual 27-inch screens with 4K resolution and brightness up to 1000 cd/m². The steering wheel is equipped with sports shift paddles, allowing the driver to customize 4 levels of energy recovery and activate one-pedal driving mode.

In addition, Hyundai Elexio also supports 2-zone wireless charging for both the driver and front passenger. The storage space is diversely designed with 29 compartments, a sliding security box and a two-way extendable cup holder.

Meanwhile, the exterior of the car uses a completely new design language, clearly different from the Hyundai Ioniq line. In the front area, the car does not have a grille but is equipped with a crystal-inspired LED daytime running light strip and integrates the number "8" which is considered to bring luck in Chinese culture.

This elongated LED strip and glowing logo help increase recognition and create a high-tech feel for Hyundai's new recruit. Meanwhile, the front bumper is designed with a strong two-tone color, showing a "bold premium" style.

Next are the prominent ribs and clear wheel arches, creating a solid feeling for the side of the car. Besides that, there is the characteristic diagonal line on the D-pillar, hidden door handles and 20-inch multi-spoke wheels. At the rear, the car has a minimalist design with the same elongated taillights as the front.

Developed on Hyundai's E-GMP global electric modular chassis platform, Elexio has dimensions of 4,615 x 1,875 x 1,673 mm in length x width x height and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The hidden rear wiper, the Hyundai logo integrated into the rear window and the prominent design motifs on the rear bumper are also highlights of this electric car model.

In the Chinese market, this electric SUV has both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. The FWD version uses an EM16 electric motor with a maximum output of 160 kW.

The AWD version has an additional 73 kW motor on the rear axle, for a total combined output of 233 kW (about 312 hp). The top speed of both versions is 185 km/h.

The car's battery is a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) type supplied by FinDream, a wholly owned subsidiary of BYD. The specific capacity of the battery has not been announced, but Hyundai claims the car can achieve an operating range of up to 700 km under CLTC standards.

The SUV has already applied for a sales license in China. It is expected to go on sale in the Chinese market in the third quarter of this year. The Elexio is described as “a testament to Hyundai’s electrification process.” It also marks the return of foreign joint ventures to China.
