According to GizChina , analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities believes that the supply shortage of this component could hinder the release of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus to the market. This stems from difficulties in supplying the 48MP main image sensor, which has encountered challenges in supplying some camera components.
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models are said to come with 48 MP sensors
Mr. Pu said that Apple may face challenges in supplying the 48MP sensor in the expected time. If there are no delays, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will launch at the same time as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max in September 2023.
The upcoming iPhones could bring significant improvements in the photography department, especially when compared to the iPhone 14. The top-end iPhone 15 Pro Max even comes with a periscope telephoto camera that allows for up to 10x optical zoom.
In particular, these iPhone models may come with a new Sony sensor that handles HDR photography better and captures more light at night. This improvement could make the camera more attractive to users.
While the release of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus may be delayed, Apple is still releasing them on its usual schedule. In fact, that's what the company has done with some products, like the iPhone X, which was released later than the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, despite being released at the same time.
