The main reason is that the time for the new generation iPhone to be released is near. Many users are waiting to buy the new device. Meanwhile, others want to wait for the old device to be discounted more deeply after the new one is released.

Therefore, dealers have launched a series of incentive programs to stimulate sales. Specifically, the iPhone 13 is currently being offered for sale at VND 11.5 million, a decrease of VND 500,000 compared to last month.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus duo are priced from 12.5 million VND and 18 million VND respectively for the 128GB version. Meanwhile, the two iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus 128GB versions are priced at 15.5 million VND and 19 million VND.
"There are no new products being launched at this time. After the price was adjusted to a low level, many old models have become the optimal choice for customers," said Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple product manager at Di Dong Viet system.
Meanwhile, a representative of Minh Tuan Mobile system said that previous generation iPhone lines have recorded slight growth after the price adjustment. The number of iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 sold currently accounts for more than 40% of total iPhone sales in the entire system.
In fact, Apple "killed" the iPhone 13 model from September 2024 after launching the iPhone 16 generation. The company also removed the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus from its product catalog after announcing the iPhone 16e product line in February.

Despite that, sales of these devices are still growing strongly in the Vietnamese market. This is also a strategy that Apple has successfully applied for many years. Accordingly, the company will "kill" old product lines but still sell them at lower prices in emerging markets, including Vietnam.
"Sales of iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 have now increased by about 2.5 times compared to February. Last year, iPhone sales in Vietnam in the second quarter decreased by 20% compared to the first quarter.
However, with Apple and its dealers continuously implementing incentive programs, it is estimated that iPhone sales in the second quarter could increase by 5% compared to the first quarter," said Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, communications representative of the CellphoneS system.
