Improving relations between Iran and other Arab countries in the region is one of the main strategies pursued by the Raisi administration since the president took office, Mohammad Mokhber added.
Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic ties with Iran in early 2016 in response to attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran after the kingdom executed a Shiite cleric.
On March 10, under the urging of China, Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to re-establish diplomatic relations and reopen embassies and representative missions in each other's countries within the next two months.
On March 19, Iranian President's Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs Mohammad Jamshidi announced on Twitter that the King of Saudi Arabia had sent an invitation to Mr. Raisi to visit Riyadh.
According to the post, Mr. Jamshidi said the king wrote in the letter that he welcomed the agreement between the two "brotherly countries" to normalize bilateral relations and called for strong economic and regional cooperation between Riyadh and Tehran.
In other related news, also on April 4, IANS reported that it was announced that Iran and Saudi Arabia will soon open a joint chamber of commerce.
Tehran plans to start exchanging business delegations with Riyadh as soon as the two sides reopen their embassies in each other's countries, a member of the presidential council of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) was quoted by IANS as saying.
