Israel continues to take strong action, Amnesty International accuses of "genocide", Hamas threatens to "neutralize" all hostages

On December 4, Israel continued to carry out attacks on the central and southern areas of the Gaza Strip as well as raided hospitals in the West Bank, causing many deaths.

At least 18 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in Israeli attacks on central and southern Gaza on December 4, Xinhua news agency reported, citing regional medical sources.

Meanwhile, on the same day, AFP news agency reported that the Palestinian Health Ministry in the West Bank condemned the Israeli forces' raid on a hospital in Nablus and the arrest of an injured patient.

The ministry called the raid a "flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions regulating the protection of medical facilities and patients".

Israeli authorities confirmed that the raid took place on the evening of December 4, in which they arrested a Palestinian who was injured in an Israeli airstrike the day before.

In a joint statement, the Israeli army, the Shin Bet security service and the Israeli police accused the man of being "the third member of a terrorist group that carried out a shooting attack" at the Mehola junction in August that killed an Israeli.

They also accused the man of planning further attacks and posing an "imminent threat to Israeli civilians".

The Palestinian Health Ministry called on "international organizations" and the Red Cross to "intervene immediately to stop the occupation forces' attacks on treatment facilities and personnel, demanding immediate protection for the health system and all its components".

* Also on December 4, the Times of Israel reported, Hamas movement said there is information about Israel's intention to carry out a hostage rescue operation similar to the one conducted at Nuseirat camp in Gaza in June 2024;

According to the Times of Israel , Hamas has instructed its members to act harshly against the hostages without fear of consequences, and has asserted that Israel must take responsibility for the fate of the hostages if it launches an attack on Hamas.

* In another development, on December 5, Amnesty International released a 300-page report detailing 15 Israeli airstrikes in Gaza from October 7, 2023 to April 20, 2024, killing 334 civilians, including 141 children.

"There is no evidence that any of these attacks were directed against military targets," the organization stressed, accusing Israel of "conducting genocide" against Palestinians in Gaza since the outbreak of hostilities last year.

In addition to the tens of thousands of deaths and physical and psychological trauma, the report also found that Palestinians were suffering from "malnutrition, hunger and disease" and facing "a slow, deliberate death".

Israel has repeatedly and steadfastly denied the genocide allegations, accusing Hamas of using Palestinians as human shields.
