Unlike the concept version launched in 2024 using a closed grille, the commercial version of the 2025 Isuzu D-Max EV pickup truck still retains the traditional open grille design. The main changes include the EV logo, the charging port located at the old fuel tank position and the removal of the exhaust pipe.

The car is painted in a distinctive Norwegian Blue color, combined with 18-inch dark alloy wheels and matte black accents. The D-Max EV will be sold in two body variants: Extended Cab (extended cab) and Double Cab (double cab), both in the premium segment.

Isuzu equips the D-Max EV with a full-time 4-wheel drive system, combining two electric motors for a total capacity of 188 horsepower and maximum torque of 325 Nm. Compared to the diesel version, the electric car is 26.8 horsepower more powerful but slightly less torque of 35 Nm.

The D-Max EV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 10.1 seconds and reach a top speed of over 129 km/h. The vehicle still retains the Rough Terrain Mode, a specialty of the diesel D-Max line. One of the notable strengths of the D-Max EV is its carrying and towing capacity comparable to diesel pickups.

The vehicle has a payload of over 1,000 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes. Off-road capability is also maintained with a ground clearance of 210 mm and a wading depth of 600 mm. The D-Max EV's power source comes from a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing an estimated range of 263 km according to the WLTP standard.

The vehicle supports 50 kW DC fast charging, allowing charging from 20% to 80% in just about an hour. In terms of structure, the D-Max EV continues to be developed on the chassis inherited from the internal combustion engine D-Max but has been improved to suit the electric powertrain.
