Jannik Sinner attends Vienna Open 2025, competes for the championship with Zverev

(Dan Tri) - After winning the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia on the morning of October 19, Jannik Sinner decided to participate in the ATP 500 Vienna Open 2025 taking place in Austria from October 20 to October 26.

Sinner will play his opening match against Daniel Altmaier on October 21. World number one Carlos Alcaraz is not playing in Austria, so Sinner is the number one seed.

Sinner's biggest rival in the championship race is second seed Alexander Zverev. The German world number 3 will face Jacob Fearnley in the opening match. After beating Alcaraz 6-2, 6-4 in the Six Kings Slam 2025 final, Jannik Sinner shared: “I wish I could play at this level. I have faced Alcaraz many times and also lost many matches. However, I am happy to share the top matches with Alcaraz.”

With the Six Kings Slam championship, Sinner pocketed 6 million USD ($1.5 million for participating in the tournament and 4.5 million USD for winning the championship). The Italian tennis player also shortened the score to 6-10 in the confrontations with Carlos Alcaraz.

At the same time as the Vienna Open, the 2025 ATP 500 Basel Open will also take place in Switzerland. Top seed Taylor Fritz will have his opening match on October 21 against Valentin Vacherot, the 2025 Shanghai Masters champion.
