Jensen Huang may be absent from President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. He is on a business trip to East Asia this week, as he typically does during the Lunar New Year holiday, according to Bloomberg . The Nvidia CEO has never attended a U.S. presidential inauguration, the source said.

As such, Nvidia became an outlier among the world's most valuable technology companies. Most of the leaders attended the event, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos, Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

In early January 2025, Mr. Huang said he would be happy to meet Mr. Trump and would “do whatever I can to make the administration successful.” However, he has not been invited to the president-elect’s Mar-a-Lago home.

He hopes Mr. Trump will reduce regulations because only then can the industry develop rapidly.

In the final days of President Joe Biden’s term, Nvidia faces a slew of new rules and regulations. The US wants to tighten China’s access to cutting-edge technology like Nvidia’s AI chips. The world’s No. 1 semiconductor company has opposed the new measures, calling them “overreach” and warning of a disaster for the tech industry.

“Trump’s first term has demonstrated that America wins by innovating, competing, and sharing technology with the world, not by retreating behind government overreach,” said Ned Finkle, Nvidia’s vice president of global public affairs.

Nvidia and Mr. Huang have been the brightest stars in the semiconductor world for some time. As sales have soared, CEO Huang has traveled the world promoting AI technology. Nvidia is now second only to Apple in market capitalization.
