On the occasion of the book launch, Professor Tran Van Tho has a series of Booktour events to meet readers.

The series of events will take place in many provinces and cities across the country, starting from Da Nang (May 20 and 21), Binh Duong (May 30), Ho Chi Minh City (May 31, June 5, June 7 at Saturday Coffee, Van Lang University and Hoa Sen University) and will end at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi in June.

As one of the most prominent Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan, Professor Tran Van Tho has spent decades living and working in a foreign land. However, his homeland has never been absent from his concerns. It is from this love that his book Memories of the Future was born.

Book Memories to the Future

According to researcher Nguyen Xuan Xanh, Professor Tran Van Tho lives with the soul of the country with four thousand years of culture and history.

He is a man of emotions, moved by beautiful poems, the beauty of nature and his homeland, but also moved by examples of indomitable spirit and ambition to build and foster the scientific pulse of the times.

"A book full of emotions. Deep feelings, profound awareness. The soul of the Meiji Restoration combined with the Vietnamese soul of thousands of years still follows him throughout his years abroad.

"Going to school and doing research is an order for him, just as it was for Meiji Japanese students" - Mr. Xuan Xanh commented on the book "Memories to the Future".

Tran Van Tho is a PhD in Economics and an honorary professor at Waseda University, Tokyo. He was awarded the Order of the Golden Rays of the Swiss Guard by the Japanese Government. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Group of many Vietnamese Prime Ministers.

Dr. Tran Van Tho has published many books on economics in Japan and Vietnam, of which one book won the Asia-Pacific Prize (Japan) and five books won the Good Book Prize (Vietnam).

His recent books published in Vietnam are: Time shock and the Vietnamese economy (Tri Thuc Publishing House, 2016), Vietnam today and tomorrow (co-editor, Da Nang Publishing House), Japanese economy in the period of miraculous development 1955-1973 (Da Nang Publishing House), For a rich and strong Vietnam (co-editor, Hanoi National University Publishing House, 2023).
