The program is organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, Jeonbuk Center for Creative Economy Innovation - Korea, Korea - Vietnam Trade Promotion Center (KORETOVIET), Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) and partners.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu (Deputy Director of SIHUB), Ho Chi Minh City is striving to become a dynamic center for innovation and startups not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia. Venture Star is a cooperative initiative between the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City and the Jeonbuk Center for Creative Economy Innovation (JBCCEI), designed to create a platform connecting potential startups with domestic and international investors, supporting Vietnamese and Korean startups to reach international levels. Venture Star also contributes to promoting closer cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, creating new values for both innovative startup ecosystems. At the same time, contribute to the successful implementation of Decision No. 672/QD-UBND dated March 1, 2021 on Supporting the development of the innovative startup ecosystem in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021 - 2025 and other decisions of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
At Venture Star, startups have the opportunity to present their innovative ideas to international investors, receive valuable feedback from experts and find potential partners. In addition, startups can access the acceleration support program under Resolution No. 20/2023/NQ-HDND of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, thereby providing potential startups with the necessary resources to quickly bring their innovative products to market.
Specifically, Venture Star (Pitching day) had the participation of 17 investors, investment funds from Korea, Vietnam and other countries, along with 21 startup projects (including 11 Vietnamese startups and 10 Korean startups). During the program that took place throughout the afternoon of August 23, Vietnamese and Korean startups presented their projects and answered questions from investors and investment funds. The language of presentation and Q&A was English. All participating projects were granted certificates of the program.

Previously, the organizing committee evaluated and selected projects registered to participate in the program. Some typical startups participating in Pitching day include Naroma (nano perfume project, applying nano technology using infrared ultrasound waves to reduce alcohol concentration in perfume, nano perfume particles adhere better, helping the scent last longer and deeper than conventional perfume); Arar/automatic citizen reception system integrated with AI voicebot; AIRCITY (a solution for managing and operating rental buildings, applying software and hardware technologies to operations to help reduce people and improve the experience for tenants in the building, helping to save 50% of operating costs compared to traditional operations); iQss (a business model applying the iQss solution to collect, manage and analyze crop data, providing information to optimize the cultivation process, thereby improving labor efficiency, increasing productivity and quality of agricultural products);...

Mega Us Expo 2024 with the theme "Trade Promotion Festival - The Door to Connecting the Korean - Vietnamese Market" takes place at White Palace Event Center (No. 194 Hoang Van Thu, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) from August 22 to August 24.
