Cultural and artistic exchange program between Vietnam Exhibition House and Malaysia Exhibition House.
This is the kick-off activity for a series of cultural cooperation programs between Vietnam and ASEAN countries at EXPO 2025 with the first participation from Malaysia - the country holding the role of ASEAN Chair in 2025.
The program featured artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and 12 Malaysian artists in colorful traditional costumes. On the outdoor stage of the Malaysian Pavilion, the clear sounds of traditional Vietnamese bamboo musical instruments resonated, creating an enchanting space.
In addition, the unique traditional dance Wau Bulan of Malaysia combined with the sounds of the monochord, flute and drums of Vietnam contributed to creating a lively, culturally rich harmony, spreading an exciting atmosphere to international audiences.
The highlight of the program was the exchange with the audience, when artists from both countries invited international friends to join in the Joget folk dance (also known as Chakunchak) of Malaysia, combined with the sounds of Vietnamese traditional musical instruments.
The EXPO space became vibrant and intimate, true to the spirit of exchange and connection through art, bringing ASEAN culture closer to the international community.
2025 is an important milestone marking 30 years since Vietnam officially joined ASEAN. In that context, the cultural and artistic exchange program with the Malaysian Exhibition House is not only a simple art performance but also the beginning of a series of bilateral and multilateral cultural cooperation events between Vietnam and ASEAN countries at EXPO 2025.
Through the event, Vietnam continues to demonstrate its proactive spirit, responsibility and active role in building a cohesive and sustainably developing ASEAN Community.
Following the success of the exchange program with Malaysia, in the coming time, Vietnam Exhibition House plans to coordinate with ASEAN member countries' exhibition houses to organize more activities to promote culture, art, cuisine , etc. at EXPO 2025 Osaka.
Through this, Vietnam and ASEAN countries hope to spread to international friends the unique beauty of Southeast Asian culture, conveying the message of connection between tradition and modernity, between cultures and peoples in the region, joining hands for peace and sustainable development globally.
Within the framework of multilateral cooperation, the Vietnam Exhibition House will participate in activities at ASEAN Day (August 8) with a parade and art performance of 10 ASEAN countries. In particular, on September 10, the program "ASEAN presents Viet Nam" will be held at the ASEAN Exhibition House to introduce and honor the image of Vietnam through unique cultural and artistic activities.
This is not only an opportunity to promote national cultural identity, but also an opportunity to affirm Vietnam's position and role in the ASEAN community and at the same time bring the image of the country and people of Vietnam closer to international friends.
