The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training informed that on May 7, the English proficiency survey system for teachers announced the test results to each individual.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in the results of teachers, the case of using the phrase "reliable" is English teachers; teachers of other subjects and the results of the 2-skill session on the system are equal to or only 1 level different from the achieved certificate; Or teachers of other subjects, do not have a foreign language certificate and the results of the 2-skill session on the system are below level B1 (A1, A2).
In the cases where the phrase "not reliable enough" is used, teachers of other subjects and the results of the 2-skill session on the system are 2 levels different from the achieved certificate, and the test completion time is short.
The cases using the phrase "no reliable information" are teachers whose subjects and certificates have not been identified but the results are from B2 or higher.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said the core purpose of the survey is to assess the current situation, not to test individual proficiency. This survey is conducted to assess the overall picture of the English proficiency of teachers in the entire industry. The survey results are important and necessary input data for Ho Chi Minh City to have a realistic and scientific view of the current situation.
The survey is important because it will be the foundation for the city to build a development plan. The collected data will be the basis for building the Project "Gradually bringing English to become the second language in schools", an important goal to improve the qualityof education and international integration.
From the overall results, the Department of Education and Training will calculate, develop a plan and roadmap to train and support the improvement of foreign language skills for the team in an appropriate, effective and feasible manner, meeting the requirements of educational innovation according to Conclusion 91-KL/TW.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that the department is committed to the confidentiality and purpose of using the information results of this survey.
"The Department of Education and Training would like to emphasize that this is not an exam to evaluate or classify the capacity or expertise of each teacher. The results of the English proficiency survey will absolutely not be used for any other purposes such as competition assessment, salary consideration, discipline or other personal purposes. The results of each individual will be kept confidential. Only the teachers themselves and the support team of the Steering Committee for project development (a specialized department assigned to synthesize and analyze data to serve the development of the general plan) will have access to it."
