High school graduation exam:

(BĐ) - On the morning of June 15, the Ministry of Education and Training held a Conference on the organization of the 2023 High School Graduation Exam between the National Exam Steering Committee and the Provincial Exam Steering Committee in a combination of in-person and online formats.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong - Head of the National Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam co-chaired the conference.

At the conference, Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that this year, more than 1 million candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. Of these, 37,841 were independent candidates, accounting for 3.69% of the total number of candidates; 968,160 candidates registered online, accounting for 95% of the total number of candidates. The total number of candidates registered for exemption from the Foreign Language exam was 46,670, accounting for 4.55% of the total number of candidates.

This year's high school graduation exam will be organized basically as stable as in 2022. The Ministry has given general instructions, and provinces and cities will preside over all exam organization work in their localities. The exam will take place from June 27 to 30, 2023; exam results will be announced on July 18, 2023; and the recognition of high school graduation will be completed no later than July 20, 2023.

The Ministry of Education and Training mobilized nearly 8,000 officials and civil servants from highereducation institutions to organize 63 inspection teams for the Ministry's exam supervision work and 63 inspection teams for the Ministry's exam marking work at 63 Departments of Education and Training.

In the coming time, the National Steering Committee will continue to organize working delegations to inspect localities on exam preparation, exam supervision and grading; regularly connect with the Provincial Steering Committees of localities to coordinate in organizing exams safely, seriously and in accordance with regulations.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized the annual nature , as well as the high requirements and demands of the high school graduation exam. The exam takes place nationwide, receives public attention, and the results of the exam are used for many professional requirements and other purposes, so the instructions and requirements are always very high.

According to the Minister, this year's exam will be conducted according to the old general education program - the 2006 program, with the old program and textbooks; however, the spirit of innovation is being implemented in all classes and programs, not just the old program. This year's exam has some new points and adjustments, and the requirements for training and implementation must be carefully prepared.

Appreciating that many provinces/cities, in addition to implementing the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, have also carefully prepared according to local requirements, the Minister requested that the Steering Committees at all levels adhere to the requirements in Directive 17 dated May 29, 2023 of the Prime Minister; at the same time, there must be unity , communication, and smooth connection between all levels and the Steering Committee to fully implement Directive 17.

In the preparation work, the Minister emphasized that the local Steering Committee prioritizes preparation in terms of technology, equipment and human factors. Be clear in implementing work and handling situations . Information and communication work is also a part of the exam organization work to ensure the success of the exam. At the same time, it is recommended that localities with related problems discuss immediately and promptly so that the Ministry of Education and Training and the National Steering Committee can handle it.

For Binh Dinh province, this year, the whole province has 18,903 candidates registered for the exam. Most candidates registered for both high school graduation and university and college admission (only 327 candidates registered for high school graduation).
