A 2-day, 1-night tour is launched for tourists using a pass to Pingxiang (China) and vice versa.
On April 29, at Huu Nghi international border gate, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province and the People's Government of Bang Tuong town, Guangxi (China) jointly organized a ceremony to announce a 2-day, 1-night tour program for visitors using a passport.
The event aims to concretize the Joint Communique of the 2025 Spring Meeting Program between the Provincial Party Secretaries of Lang Son, Cao Bang , Ha Giang, Quang Ninh provinces (Vietnam) and the Party Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), as well as the contents from the Joint Working Committee Conferences, promoting cross-border tourism cooperation between the two sides.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, emphasized that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Lang Son and Guangxi is increasingly developing comprehensively and substantially.
In the field of tourism, the two sides have carried out many promotional activities, connected routes, improved service quality, and gradually increased the number of visitors crossing the border.
The new tourism program allows Vietnamese tourists to use a passport to visit Pingxiang City, Guangxi (China) and Chinese tourists to experience tourist attractions in Lang Son Province (Vietnam).
This is considered a breakthrough in bilateral cooperation, not only creating favorable conditions for tourists to explore the culture, cuisine and scenic spots of both sides, but also promoting people-to-people exchange and socio-economic development, especially in the fields of services, trade and tourism in border areas.
Mr. Nguyen Dang An said that in the coming time, Lang Son will continue to closely coordinate with Chinese partners to improve the quality of cross-border tourism activities, creating a premise to promote service tourism, contributing to the common development of both sides.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu Hieu Huy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Bang Tuong City (Guangxi, China) highly appreciated the effective coordination between functional agencies, the companionship of the tourism business community and people of the two localities.
He said that Thi Bang Tuong will continue to cooperate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, linking the tourism policies of the two countries, promoting the formation of a cross-border tourism cooperation zone of Bang Tuong (China) - Van Lang (Vietnam).
According to Mr. Huy, the travel program using travel passes is not only a new tourism product but also a vivid symbol of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China, and at the same time a strategy to effectively exploit the potential of border tourism, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of each side.
Before the 2-day-1-night travel program using a passport as you mentioned was implemented, the common way of traveling between Lang Son (Vietnam) and Pingxiang (Guangxi, China) would use one of two main types of documents including a border entry and exit passport and a regular passport with a Chinese visa.
