On the evening of May 22, according to Thanh Nien reporter's source, Mr. Huynh Vu Phong, Director of the Market Management Department (QLTT) of Ca Mau province, has just decided to accept a customer's complaint against KC gold shop (Ward 2, Ca Mau City) for buying and selling gold of poor quality.
According to the content of the decision, the time to resolve the complaint is 30 days (from May 21, 2024).

The whistleblower provides
Previously, Ms. TTNA (in Ward 5, Ca Mau City) filed a complaint against KC gold shop for selling gold of poor quality. Specifically, on February 14, 2023, Ms. A. went to KC gold shop to buy a 24K gold bracelet with a receipt of 980 gold (1 tael). Then on August 25, 2023, Ms. A. went to KC gold shop to buy 1 more tael of gold including a chain and pendant, 980 gold. For each purchase, the owner of KC gold shop did not issue an invoice, only recorded the receipt as a gold guarantee.
On April 28, 2024, Ms. A. brought the 2 taels of gold she had purchased to KC gold shop to resell, but the gold shop owner only bought it at the price of 960 gold. Although Ms. A. provided full receipts from the gold shop when selling to her. Both receipts were recorded as 980 gold.
Believing that KC gold shop had deceived customers, Ms. A. filed a petition to the authorities of Ca Mau province, requesting clarification of the case in order to protect consumer rights. And on May 16, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province sent a document transferring Ms. A's complaint to the Market Management Department.
On April 30, 2024, the Ca Mau Province Jewelry Association had a meeting with Ms. A. and the owner of the above KC gold shop. The minutes of conciliation showed that through visual inspection, the gold bracelet was stamped with 96% gold, and the gold chain and face were stamped with 98% gold.
