On the afternoon of April 25, in Yang Tao commune, Lak district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of a class teaching traditional decorative patterns on handmade pottery of the M'nong people.

The class has 20 students who are M'nong people, aged from 27 to 74, residing in Yang Tao commune, Lak district. Accordingly, the students will be introduced to the M'nong people's handicraft pottery, instructed in traditional decorative techniques, and practice decorating patterns on ceramic products.

The class aims to preserve and promote the cultural values ​​of the M'nong people, especially the traditional patterns and pottery making of the M'nong people. Thereby, raising awareness in the community, helping the younger generation understand and appreciate the pottery craft of the nation.

At the same time, it helps artisans and students have the opportunity to learn and develop decorative skills on ceramics, contributing to increasing the economic value of the products, and building the ceramic profession into a cultural tourist destination.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province Lai Duc Dai shared: Organizing a class to teach traditional decorative techniques on ceramics is not only to pass on the profession, but also a practical action to preserve the "soul" of culture, while at the same time arousing pride and love for heritage in the younger generation.

Through the classes, artisans, especially the young generation, are exposed to, learn and practice traditional drawing and carving techniques. From there, they create unique handmade ceramic products imbued with national identity. This is also an important foundation for gradually building and developing the Yang Tao ceramic brand, associated with community tourism, contributing to improving income and living standards for the people.

The class is expected to last about 1 month (from April 25 to the end of May 2025).
