- On the evening of April 25, at Dong Kinh Cinema, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the Opening Ceremony of the Film Series to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), the 71st anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of departments, branches, unions in the province; officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces; students and youth union members in Lang Son city.

Officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police and the Provincial Military Command and delegates attended the opening ceremony of the film series.

At the opening ceremony, delegates enjoyed the movie “Tunnels: Sun in the Dark”. The film focuses on the life and fighting of guerrillas in the Cu Chi tunnels during the fierce period of the war. The film not only recreates the fierceness of the war but also depicts the resilient and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence.

It is known that the film screening will take place from April 25 to May 20, 2025 at Dong Kinh Cinema and mobile cinemas in 10 districts in the province.

During the film campaign, people will enjoy outstanding cinematographic works including documentary films and feature films such as: Dien Bien Memories; Living with History; Red Ban Flowers; Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong; The Prophet; Liberating Saigon; Saigon Commandos; Moments of War; Parallel 17 Days and Nights; Dien Bien Phu Memories; Uncle Ho Lives Forever in the Hearts of the People...

The film series contributes to reviewing the glorious tradition in the struggle for independence, freedom and national construction of our people. At the same time, it educates patriotism, arouses national pride and self-reliance among all classes of people, especially the young generation. Thereby, it aims to encourage and motivate all classes of people in the province to continue promoting patriotic emulation movements, actively studying and working in production, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development of the province in 2025.
