Opening of Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025

On the evening of June 5, at Dinh Le Street, Lao Cai City, the opening ceremony of Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 took place.

The opening ceremony took place at Dinh Le street, Lao Cai city.

Attending the opening ceremony on the Central side were Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism ; Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming (Yunnan - China).

On the Lao Cai side, there were comrades: Vu Xuan Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Quoc Khanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and enterprises and partners inside and outside the province.

Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 takes place from June 5 to 8 with the theme "Lao Cai Tourism - Connecting Green Aspirations". This is a strong message, demonstrating the determination to transform local tourism towards the goal of sustainable development with core values: Protecting natural ecosystems, minimizing human impact; minimizing waste, using clean energy and renewable resources; developing community tourism, connecting interests between the State, businesses, tourists and local people; preserving traditional culture; expanding the connection between Lao Cai tourism with the Northwest region, tourist centers of the whole country and international connections.

Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 is organized with a scale of 130 booths of domestic and foreign enterprises. Notably, within the framework of the fair, there is the participation of a survey delegation (Farmtrip), including 120 major international travel agencies, representing over 10 countries and territories - the largest international tourist markets to Lao Cai, such as: China, Malaysia, India, Japan, Australia, Korea, France, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia; more than 40 domestic and international promotion and communication agencies and organizations.

This is an important tourism and cultural event of the province and the Northwest region, affirming the role and position of Lao Cai - an economic connection point, cultural exchange, trade cooperation center, promoting development in the East-West economic corridor, the Northeast belt of the country and internationally.

In recent years, along with the development of Vietnam's tourism industry, Lao Cai - a land with many attractive tourism resources, Sa Pa National Tourist Area with over 120 years of tourism development, has achieved many impressive achievements in terms of visitors, revenue and diverse products. Destinations of Lao Cai such as Fansipan Legend Cable Car Tourist Area were awarded "World's Leading Cultural Tourist Area 2023" and "World's Leading Natural Landscape Tourist Area 2023"; Sa Pa is in the top 50 most beautiful small towns in the world; Bac Ha market is considered the most attractive in Southeast Asia... Many tourism products have become "brands" positioned on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world. With more than 8 million visitors and revenue of nearly 27,000 billion VND in 2024, Lao Cai tourism is increasingly affirming its position as an important and spearhead economic sector, gradually creating a breakthrough in the province's economic structure.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the fair.

Speaking at the opening of the fair, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 emphasized: Facing opportunities and challenges in the context of globalization, climate change and increasingly fierce competition for destinations, Lao Cai province is always steadfast in its orientation towards developing green and sustainable tourism. Lao Cai hopes that after this fair, the image of Lao Cai tourism will be spread more widely and more beautifully in the eyes of tourists, with friendliness, modernity, creativity, integration, and above all, maintaining its central position, connecting Northwest tourism with national and international tourism.
