According to information from the organizing committee, the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) is an annual competition held in rotation in member countries for excellent math students from more than 40 countries and territories around the world .

This is one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions for secondary school students. It is also a useful international playground, creating opportunities for mathematical talents from many countries to compete and develop their mathematical abilities, establish an academic environment, promote creativity, and develop research.

At the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025, the host Vietnam delegation will participate with 30 countries and territories, with an expected participation of 526 contestants, 181 teachers, and 100 international guests.

The VIMC 2025 exam is organized according to the international standards of the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) and includes two tables: Key Stage II (grades 5-6) and Key Stage III (grades 7-8). Each student participates in two mandatory rounds: individual round and team round. The exam questions are selected from proposals sent by the professional boards of participating countries. The international organizing committee - coordinated by the Chiu Chang Foundation - will select, compile and unify the official exam questions. Regarding the award structure, it is awarded at three levels: individual, team and group.

Within the framework of the program, on the morning of August 15, all candidates who attended the exam participated in the "Puzzle Challenge" - a competitive math activity that helps students enhance logical thinking and increase engagement, as well as interact with international friends.

Along with that, at the main hall of Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), the international conference "Advanced AI Models and Data Science" took place with the participation of many leading scholars and experts.

These activities contribute to enriching the VIMC 2025 program, creating opportunities for candidates, teachers, and international guests to access new knowledge, expand academic cooperation, and experience the multicultural exchange environment in Da Nang .

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that Da Nang city is proud of its green - clean - beautiful living environment, friendly and hospitable people and a spirit of innovation and creativity that always looks towards the future.

In recent years, Da Nang city has effectively implemented policies to attract and utilize talents to serve socio-economic development. The city has given special incentives to human resources in key areas such as education, healthcare, information technology, artificial intelligence and semiconductors.

In addition, the city promotes international cooperation, sends cadres, civil servants and public employees for training abroad, and invites international experts to work, thereby building an academic and research environment that is competitive and internationally integrated.

From that development orientation and the attention and support of partners and related units, the 2025 International Mathematics Competition will take place right in Da Nang city - a convergence of knowledge, passion and international friendship.

The official exam will take place on August 16. Candidates will go through 2 rounds: individual and team, including argumentation and debate to achieve maximum score in Mathematics.
