The film festival was also attended by many producers, critics, and experts in the film industry such as former president and founder of the Busan International Film Festival Kim Dong-ho, Kim Dong Ho, president of the Busan Film Festival Park Kwang Su, director of the Tokyo International Film Festival Shozo Ichiyama, etc.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh affirmed that the Film Festival is not only a place to introduce excellent works, but also a space for meeting, cooperation and spreading inspiration among filmmakers, artists and audiences. With more than 100 films screened, DANAFF is demonstrating its strong influence in the region.
Ms. Audrey Azoulay - Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) said that cinema plays a role in connecting people, especially when the world is facing many changes and difficulties.
Vietnam is not only blessed with wonderful cultural heritages, recognized by the international community through UNESCO titles, but is also building strong policies to promote the development of cultural industries, in which cinema is developing strongly, marking both domestic revenue and international awards.
Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council affirmed that DANAFF is becoming more and more professional and methodical with each organization - with rich content, expanded scale, diverse award categories and artistic values that are increasingly affirmed and honored.
Notably, the effective socialization organizational model has contributed to promoting social resources, connecting creative, production, management and business entities to expand creative space in culture.
The third DANAFF marks the first time the program has expanded from 5 to 7 days, and is also the first time it has been chosen as the venue for the world premiere of many films.
This is also the first year that the organizers have implemented the "Project Incubator" - a program to incubate film projects - with a category dedicated to projects from Vietnam.
Along with that is the Masterclass model - learning with experts - for young filmmakers. In addition, the film festival continues to maintain the basic and advanced "Talent Nurturing" acting class model. The experts teaching the class include producer Vanridee Pongsittisak (film "Tinh nguoi duyen ma", "Thien tai bat hao" ) from Thailand, director Kang Je Kyu from Korea...
DANAFF 2025 will last from June 29 to July 5, 2025 in Da Nang, with more than 200 free film screenings (ticket distribution) at cinema complexes in the city. Film screening programs include Asian Film Competition, Vietnamese Film Competition, Panorama of Asian Cinema, Korean Cinema Spotlight and Half a Century of Vietnamese War Films./.
