Opening of the 29th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition 2 (Red River Delta) in 2024
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 16, at the City Information, Exhibition and Cinema Center, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City coordinated with the Vietnam Fine Arts Association to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 29th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition (Red River Delta) in 2024.
Attending the program were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam; Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Luong Xuan Doan and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, agencies, units of Hai Phong city and provinces and centrally-run cities in the Red River Delta region.
The exhibition opens from August 16 to August 25, 2024 at the City Information, Exhibition and Cinema Center (No. 1 Nguyen Duc Canh, Le Chan District, Hai Phong City), introducing 151 works of art by 144 authors, including 98 works by 91 authors who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association; 53 works by 53 authors who are members and collaborators of the Literature and Arts Associations of the localities of Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh . These are new works of art created within a period of one year from August 2023 to present.
This exhibition shows the richness of the types of works, large in quantity, rich in artistic identity. The viewers' feeling is the artists' attachment to the life in the Red River Delta and coastal provinces. The works with perspectives close to life, show a strong change in the creative thinking of artists in the region. Many works are highly appreciated, are breakthroughs, showing the artists' concern for the problems that exist in real life.
Speaking at the program, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai said: In recent years, Hai Phong's fine arts activities have always developed strongly in both staff and quality, highly appreciated by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association as well as professionals and art lovers nationwide, affirming its position and prestige in the Vietnamese fine arts industry. Hai Phong Fine Arts also organizes many joint exhibitions, solo exhibitions in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and abroad as well as attracting artists from provinces and cities in the country and internationally to Hai Phong to exhibit, exchange and cooperate. Thereby, promoting the works as well as the city to domestic and foreign friends. In particular, in recent years, Hai Phong has a large team of young artists, well-trained in formal schools, actively creating and affirming their names in creative activities.
In 2024, Hai Phong city is honored to host the 29th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition II (Red River Delta). With careful and enthusiastic preparation, Hai Phong city wishes to continue to become a trusted address, a bridge for artists to exchange, learn and create many works about Hai Phong land and people; in order to continuously build and develop Hai Phong Fine Arts in particular, Vietnamese Fine Arts in general, actively contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity.
At the program, the Organizing Committee announced the list of members of the Art Council to judge the 29th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition Awards (Red River Delta) in 2024; awarded 2 B prizes, 2 C prizes and 10 Encouragement prizes for works participating in the exhibition.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 03 groups, presented Commemorative Medals to 2 groups and 11 individuals who have made positive and effective contributions to the development of Vietnamese Fine Arts in general and Hai Phong City Fine Arts in particular. At the same time, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association awarded the Flag to host the 30th Regional Fine Arts Exhibition (Red River Delta) in 2025 to Quang Ninh province.
